Quote from: hongkongfulham on August 18, 2026, 10:23:40 AMrumors that Edson Alvarez refused to play at the weekend. Not a fan of that kind of thing but you never know the full story. Could be a nice squad player on loan or 10ish mil?

DM with potential to cover CB
He is utter 💩

Yep, proven dross.

Avoid.

Pitarch is a dead duck at this point.  His coach has promised him that he will be an important player in the team next (27-28) season.  Have seen this in various articles over past several days.  Need to move on from Pitarch methinks.

The last minute scramble begins in earnest.

Let's hope we don't any duds in like a Mitroglu style transfer who are complete garbage!

It doesn't.

Agreed

2 weeks to go and deals just do tend to pick up pace at end of the window but alot of the concrete links are people weve been linked with before so not exactly scrambling. Just a matter of decision time for both clubs and players, and seeing if those who weren't previously available are,or moving on from targets that maybe we were pushing for but aren't looking like happening.

At least this time we have 4 signings in the bag and only a couple absolute musts have positions left to sign

Quote from: General on August 18, 2026, 01:55:07 PMRandom, but whilst Pitarch has apparently signed a new deal at Real, nothing has been announced by either party yet. With that in mind, but also just in general, does a new contract in and of itself guarantee he's off the table?

Feel like occasionally players sign new contracts just to improve their original clubs position in negotiating - TK said Anguissa did that for us for instance

Appreciate it tends to indicate being dead in the water, but not always, so curious

That's what Dembele did years ago to guarantee Fulham got a decent fee from Spurs.
As did Sess I think

Doesn't of course mean it's completely off the table, but also doesnt really imply a departure is likely in this case. Real were seemingly already ok to let him go to us and player was wanting to join prior to Rodri not signing, so it doesn't suggest that they were needing to do this to increase his fee or something as presumably we've discussed this at length with them for a while now.

Not sure if there's a logistical reason for registering him with the first team rather than castilla that I'm missing, but doesn't really feel the most positive sign of a departure.

🚨 After Arbeloa's call 📞 yesterday #FFC have contacted #GironaFC today to discuss a deal for Arnau Martinez.
Given the speed in which Fulham have entered negotiations it is thought that the conversation was positive & the player despite previously giving his yes to Valencia, is open to the move to Craven Cottage. Fulham are financially prepared to pay his full €8m release clause.
Valencia practically closed the deal yesterday so Fulham will need to move quickly if they want to hijack.

Girona defender Arnau Martinez, who appears set to leave the club this summer window, now has Fulham in the picture for a potential transfer as his situation enters 'key moments'.

The Girona academy graduate was tipped to leave last summer, with Crystal Palace coming close to bringing him to England.

However, that move failed to materialise, and the versatile 23-year-old remained at Girona, playing out a season which ultimately ended in relegation for the Catalan side.

With another summer transfer window now under way, interest in Martinez has resurfaced after he impressed last season with two goals and three assists in 35 appearances.

Among the clubs interested are Valencia, Real Betis, Fiorentina, RB Leipzig, PSV Eindhoven and Lazio, with the starlet having already got minutes in Girona's first La Liga 2 match of the season.

This link is interesting. I don't know much about him but seems to be an awfully low fee for a 23 yr old RB with Champions League and La Liga experience. If Arbeola truly wants him in, then I could see him as the new RB.

Wan Bissaka moves to Aston villa

Never seemed top of the list anyway tbf and certainly not top of my own preferred options

https://x.com/FulhamTransfer/status/2089763681768775963

Sam amissah also off to Estoril on loan which is great news

And apparently Rennes now looking at a replacement at RCB suggesting Ait Boudlal in the move https://x.com/FulhamTransfer/status/2089757499591152036

Yeah, at least on paper that looks to be an excellent move for him (and Fulham).

I think Air Boudlal is the No 1 target

Quote from: onecupsoon on August 18, 2026, 01:39:57 PMEh? Why does a multimillionaire footballer, who's obviously already good enough to get a work permit in Europe, desperately want EU citizenship?

Perhaps he and his family have aspirations to reside somewhere in Europe over the next few decades.

You don't need citizenship to do that.

That's right, you don't; there are ways for some, but it makes it so very much easier especially if he doesn't want to end up in Spain.

So looks like Arnau move to Valencia is on hold

Potentially while we work out if we're gonna pay the 8m release clause and girona hold out in case.

Pitarch apparently really is offthe table. Allegedly mourinho has indeed told him he's part of his plans now and going forwards...

So rumour is were still interested in Cestero who is more of a 6.

Somerset Fulham

I know that the usual suspects are already puckering up and getting ready to cry, but I actually don't remember the last time we had a window where from start to finish we were (if rumours are to be true of course) involved in going in for targets, and if they didn't work out we moved on to others, and quickly.

Maybe the club are leaking a little more here and there to placate everyone, I obviously don't know that but things appear to be very different this window to me.  And its a good thing.

Andrew

i think with Chelsea on Monday, we are in business as usual territory with signings.

We have three who may turn out OK but our new forward hasn't looked like scoring yet although he is clearly a decent player and Palacios who is not really a winger so we are short there. No proper diop replacement and so on.

Squad still thin and russian roulette once again but with a new manager this time.

whatever promises were made to him I'm sure haven't been kept yet, he must see how thin the squad is.

I will be happy to be proved wrong if we bring in at least three more decent players before the weekend, too late for Chelsea but not for the rest of the season.

I gather from those in attendance Arbeloa seemed very relaxed and openly happy with the board and their work at tonight's meet-and-greet with him. saying he's happy so far and they are all working on additional transfers before window is over.

2 players from Madrid look class to me, and Shea comes with a high ceiling. We have a team capable of competing against Chelsea and 2 weeks left to tie up the rest of business and improve depth, which we seem to be pushing hard to do... Made very large and early bids in for Nwaiwu, and now Ait Boudlal, so would be rather churlish to grumble about inactivity there imo, not like we've been stingy with those offers and many reports of being messed about. But RCB certainly one we'd have preferred be in the door by now - not the only ones in prem struggling to get who we want there though - and not for lack of trying.

As for russian roullette hardly seems that way to me when the vast majority of the targets currently in discussion have been linked throughout the summer and it's merely a case of some of those now starting to move and becoming available and ready to move. Pitarch we had every indication he was wanting to come, sadly Rodri fell through and now it appears that won't happen, so swiftly are looking at Cestero (who was also linked start of summer) another player with big quality.

RB the main targets - Fort, Arnau, Norton Cuffey and Bellanova are all links that have been discussed all summer.

RW the only one where it sounds like we're leaving the door later, specifically, because the sense is we'll need to look for a loan with an option or affordable deal, and a lot of those deals land later when you hope players like Nwaneri or others make a decision on where they want to go or their clubs become more reasonable about priced.

Seems theres a clear strategy in place here but naturally some deals will always come down to the wire as they do for many. At least this year it's not as backloaded as it has been and we have 3 potentially key players in the door + JKA

In terms of Chelsea we're a bit short of depth at RCB and RW but, do have players more than capable of playing well there in the short term so again, not as though we're devoid of quality to compete. Hopefully those we do end up signing in the next fortnight are worth it in the long term.

..FOF..

Trialist A is Jose Sani from Berkhamsted.

"Intriguing name on the #Fulham U21 sheet against Aldershot. Jose Sani or as we know him Trialist A got the nod leading the line.
He's a 21yo non-league forward who's incredible stats last season caught the eye of  Fulham, formerly of Berkhamsted & Hayes & Yeading.
Had a massive 25/26 season (17G, 15A across all competitions)."
