NFR: What is the best song or instrumental you have heard today?

Bryan Adams - Summer of '69 (Live) . This is one of my wife's favourites. I didn't go to many gigs in my youth, and no festivals, but when I see and listen to this in my sixties, I can understand the attraction. Cheers me up on a bad day, and I find myself belting it out if I am alone at home (or miming it and listening on headphones if the family is in).

American Jackson C. Frank suffered terrible burns, and was scarred mentally and physically, in an orphanage fire, when he was grew up, then came to England with the compensation money, and became big on the folk scene, and made a record, produced by Paul Simon.

He became an alcoholic and disappeared, and was discovered years later, back in America, homeless and on the streets - Paul Simon helping him out when he found out, getting him record royalties owned, but he died soon after.

But the songs from his one album were, and continue to be, much covered by other artists.
