I can, he's simply not good enough.
We know he is good enough. The question is if he is over his injury.

Thames Bank 1

Sess is not good enough, he is definitely not a left back, he continually struggled before his injuries at Spurs and when out on loan, good player to have in championship team though.

Another rumor Eric Garcia Centre back formally with Man city now at Barcelona, spent last season on loan at Girona aged 23 with a 15m euro valuation.

If Sess is on a free, willing to sign a cheap contract with heavy appearance bonuses and we have an extra spot in the squad we don't plan to use then I'd be fine with bringing him back. He still hangs with TC, has a nephew in the academy and probably still cares a lot about the club. Maybe Marco can get a tune out of him at LW or as an inverted RW plus Marco and his team have been pretty good managing health and injuries.

Best thing for him though is probably to go to a team near the top of the Championship and prove that he's still got it. Jumping straight back into the PL could be difficult and it really isn't the best place for a rehab project. Lesser competition and less pressure would be a benefit to ease back into.

Sess is a free agent so has no rush to sign a contract with anyone and he is still friends with some of the players, we could invite him down to pre-season training like we did with Willian and Marco can see what he thinks and check on his injury situation. If nothing comes of it then sess would have had some pre-season training before trying to find another club so it could be good for everyone, If Marco likes what he sees then we have a player of real value at a good age for free.

and help bringing the squad age down which so many of you want.
My view is bring him in for a couple of weeks under Marco, then if his agent isn't asking to much on a deal  (because all these younger British  players expect huge wages,or there agents do)Marco says yes or no.

They have been stable in the Premier league longer than us and at the moment it's looking good for them but I will wait until the window closes and the vultures stop circling before I feel envious of them.

Only recently, we've been in the PL a lot longer than they have

So that's all of the remaining little respect I had for him evaporate.
According to Romano Newcastle had sealed Tosin's signature a while ago. Then he linked him with Spurs, United, Foreign teams and now saying Chelsea now a done deal.  The guy is clueless, my Gran could do better and she's no longer with us.

And off field, they're still waiting for their new main stand.

I don't have a hate for Chelski and not bothered if Tosin ends up there. They will have to pay £100,000 plus a week for his services.  As much as it would be good to keep him, he does does have a mistake in him like Diop. I'd rather we spent £15M and got us another Bassey (but right footed), that way with Reeeèeam and Diop as back up I feel we would be solid at the back.

My two pennies.

"Doc, I've got a cricket ball stuck up my backside
"How's that?"
"Don't you start"

Quote from: LC on May 30, 2024, 12:23:55 AMHe's no way a £15-20m player and he'll go for around £30-40m this summer. And I didn't say we should spend that, I'm simply saying that is the going rate for a player of his quality, and he is quality. His lack of game time would drag down the price, but he's English and has an incredibly high ceiling which is why Arsenal will probably get the price they want

He's not a £40m player. He can't get into arsenal's side. He's done little of note for two years. Wilson, as proved v Luton can play 10 if need be and play it well. We need a left sided player, esr is not that player.

Agreed

The only way it gets close to this figure is if it's with add ons.

Morgan gibbs white was starting all the time and playing very well for wolves when he was signed for 25m.....with 17m in add ons. Something around that might be the sort of deal he gets but fairer would be around 20m with 15m in add ons given his lack of first team play time.

That said, I would love ESR, albeit we have Cairney/Iwobi/Wilson and potentially BDR all able to cover here behind Andreas

Again, I'm not suggesting we spend £40m on him, but I can easily see a deal where the sum eventually goes up to £40m with ad ons presuming he hits certain markers. I think something similar to the Morgan-Gibbs White deal with something in and around the figures you mentioned would be fair.

I think he's a top player

I don't understand why some supporters are upset with Tosin. He signed a contract and has fulfilled it. There's been no suggestion he's caused any trouble. Having come to the end of the contract it is entirely up to him to choose his next club in order to try to enhance his career and life. I am sad he's leaving as he has been a good influential player at the Cottage but wish him well wherever he ends up.

Not for me, I won't be pandering or claiming moral superiority for it

I'm annoyed at this infestation of players who won't sign an extension and leave on a free. Granted, we didn't pay much at all to get him from City, but that's not the point.

Sadly, I think it's quite the opposite. He think he's very well informed, but he's selective in what he actually feeds out. He's basically just a mouthpiece for agents now to push deals/clubs into positions they want him to push them. I think its way more than simply, being an ITK guy anymore, he's part of the agent food chain and he knows it.
