Villa fams seem to feel hes actes a bit of a knob there forcing a move and flirting with chelsea alot on socials reportedly. Who knows. But lots of bigger clubs than us interested so would be Suprised

I have a really hard time seeing us spending 40m on a 20 year old with apparent attitude problems when we have so many other holes to fill this Summer.

That's Euros so it's around £33.5m but would be inclined to agree I'd be surprised but not upset to see us splashing some cash on more firepower. We never spent the Mitro money on a striker as we reportedly were planning to so, it's a matter of hoping Muniz keeps up his form last season or Raul maintains a decent level assisted by returning Stansfield. They may feel they want to spend out on more firepower who knows.

We should have a pretty extensive kitty already according to some and if we also then sell Palhinha for 50m+ and Periera at 25m range whilst losing Willians wages then you're looking at £75m in the bank before you even touch whatever Mitro money is left after the Iwobi purchase, and any additional transfer funds on top of that.

In theory we could have enough to break our record for expenditure this summer. Doesn't guarantee success of course but the option seems to be there to go a good bit beyond 100m out on players this window should we need to

Agreed - only makes sense if Muniz is leaving. Even then - £40m would seem steep. If Muniz is staying (and hopefully he will) why would Duran join Fulham when he is no more likely to start games than he is at Villa!

Because the release clause has expired and was specific to Borussia Dortmund.

I guess the release clause was set a year ago. After a successful year with Dortmund culminating in a starting place in the Champions League Final his worth has gone up as far as Chelsea are concerned.
