Love the idea of it and really hope we make it happen.

I agree, and if you consider the full backs we have at the club as well, we have a really good base to build a team from.

Everton have proved that a good defence will keep you in the league- Hodgson proved that with us as well. I think we're only a few good quality players away from challenging for top 7, it just depends on whether we can keep the squad together.

Two Danish players on show this evening who would be good signings I think. Hjulmand who scores the equaliser has already been tired as a Palhinha replacement and he looked pretty good. Another is Skov Olsen who came on in the second half; a pacy right winger who scored over 20 goals last season in the Belgian league

Wouldnt mind Hjulmand but lets not get carried away and buy players off a (good) tournament

We were credited in having an interest in him to replace Palhinha before the Euro's even started

We are being linked with some expensive signings, I suspect the gosip mongers are aware that we have the Mitro money burning a hole in our transfer kitty .

Don't mind this one. A tonne of injuries but he's on £31k a week so very low risk as a loan. From short clips looks strong and quick but also very good in the air. Only 22. Must be a reason Atlanta bought him for so much. As long as there is an option to buy at a sensible fee pretty much a no lose and if he turns out to be brilliant with him and Muniz and the Stansfield coming through we can let Raul go end of next season and we are sorted up front. If he's useless/constantly injured we are covered this year anyway with the other 3. All seems sensible.

Yup

I sighed out audibly when the goal went in and more because I thought- well that's another few million on his price tag/bigger teams coming in, than the fact it meant England were drawing 😅
He's probably the most appropriate replacement for Palhinha from the ones I've seen but his valuation was already over 40m (release clause 69m) and reported interest from Utd and others

This is why we should be going for Luis as a replacement for Joao. Check out the similarities in the chart:

Olise reported to be going to Bayern & he has a £60m release clause. They will need deep pockets this summer if they are going to buy Palhinha as well.

I just saw on skysports website that Bayern have made another bid for Palhinha and it's thought to be less than £40m.

If so, then we're obviously going to reject it and I'm not sure why they're wasting our and their time. They're also unsettling a player who is currently at the Euros. I personally think it's ridiculous.

I personally think Palhinha will be with us come the start of the season. I think the club need to block out the noise and look at purchasing the players and plan for having him with us next season.

Supposedly, they have a bunch of players up for sale so a lot could depend on that.

If true that's a joke and a truly ridiculous attempt at lowballing. We reportedly agreed a fee of 55m last year. He has not lost 15m of value in that time. so pay up or shut up. Sick of their entitled fans online aswell. If they don't want to push up to at least 45m at this point they can shove it IMO.
I can just imagine Bayern leaving it late again and with a day to go offering 45m with addons for Joao....at which point, we look like the baddies again and are struggling to replace him in time and can't let him go.

Keep him, buy Chalobah, ESG, Andre/Sucic, another cheaper CB like Mengi, Bollo Toure and a couple attacking loans with options like El Bilal Toure and lets have a bloody good crack at Europe. 100m spent and on we push.

I'm inclined to agree, we need to set a hard sell date, if they can't agree a fee by then he stays.

In terms of incomings, I would like Chalobah, Emile Smith Rowe, and someone to compliment Palhinha in midfield. Combine that with a left sided forward and a centre forward and we're ready to challenge

if that's the best Bayern can do it's to far away from our asking price tell them to do one he's under contract.
Looking at financials thread on this site we have a 51 million budget top whack and it won't get the arsenal targets on this thread and believe we will get additional players from outside of this country.
