Quote from: Angus Telford on June 24, 2024, 09:37:47 AMWe know he wants the move and we're open to it. Apparently their latest offer is €46m plus add-ons which can't be far from the price we want. All parties would already have known their rough salary terms. We need this deal completed as soon as possible. Maybe we permitted him to speak with them. Why delay it further?

Our quoted price is about £50m or €70m. €46m + addons would be pretty far unless the addons add up to €24m.

Because we want a fair price for him, not what they want to pay.

Bayern know that Palhinha wants to play for them and no other club, they know we would like some big money and are willing to sell. In any negotiation they hold the best cards.
Seems we will have to agree a figure less than last year's offer.

It seems to me you forgot to mention that we hold a pretty decent card in the form of Palhinha being under a long contract with no release clause...

Somerset Fulham

There were pictures of him out there, but the difference is that it was all done on deadline day and had to be pushed hard in order for the transfer to have any chance of going through, it was bound to be somewhat irregular.

That deadline isn't an issue this time so things can be done in a more regulation timeline.

Somerset Fulham

That is pretty standard these days, isn't it?

I think you've either devalued the Euro or hiked the value of sterling. I can't remember the last time that £1 bought euros 1.40!

They must have been looking at pre-Brexit exchange rates  :slap:  :slap:
At today's exchange rate you are looking at £50m = €58,970,000...
Still a long way from €46m tbf ...

Oops, I've seen reports of £50m and reports of €70m so thought they were the same :slap:

Tbh i don't really disagree, think there are a handful of different but plausible explanations here. I'm only arguing because there's nothing else to talk about.

  Fair enough!

With Chelsea deadline this week re cooking the books?? looks like there have already been a couple in and out where prices seem to reflect agreement with at least one team who in similar boat are cohesive? Just had me thinking if Chalobah interest is still there and could it be concluded soon? Newcastle Everton Villa & Chelsea all seem to have there own market prices as opposed to say true value??

Tapping up doesn't exist anymore.

Agreeing a contract with another club when not given permission and you are on a long contract with your current club is surely not allowed agent or otherwise. Suspect this is bollox being reported.
Did you ever ask permission to apply for a job with a new employer.
I'm sure the first your employer heard about your (treachery) wanting away was when you handed in your notice
It could be better, but it's not a fantasy:

I just saw this on skysports website:

'Palhinha wants to join Bayern'
Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg on Sky Sports News:
"It's been such a tough negotiation with Fulham again. We cannot believe what Fulham are doing here in Germany.
"Joao Palhinha is still plan A for Bayern Munich, but they have set clear limits. Nothing has changed on that. Max Eberl led the negotiations.
"Right now, we understand they have offered around 45m euros with add-ons included. Palhinha can sign a contract until 2028 but now he is with the Portugal squad at Euro 2024.

"His big desire is to join Bayern Munich. He wants an agreement between the clubs.
"Bayern won't go to 55m euros. That is too much. There is room to increase by maybe 2m or 3m with add-ons included. But if Fulham stay firm and say they want 60m euros then I'm completely convinced that this deal will fail.'

'We cant believe they wont just sell their biggest asset to us for 10m less than they think hes worth.... Its truly mystifying that they wont just roll over and give us what we want. Do they not know we are bayern munich?'

Surely they shouldn't be allowed to come out with this stuff when a player is under contract!
Anyway, he's convinced the deal will fail, unless FFC sing to their tune, so great - let that be the case!

Trying to get the correct value for the best tackler in the Premiership,
That's what.
Stick to your guns Fulham, even though JP wants to go there, he and Bayern must respect Fulham position.

Question for the forum re summer transfer period:

A)  When can deals be done?  (I assume right now?)

B)  When does transfer period end?  Last day/time in which a deal can be done?

Thx y'all......
