So quiet..

Dragon

Bobby Reid to Leicester I've read.
Telegraph if anyone interested.

I know BDR divides opinion on here but I rate him. Always works hard, and yes, does lack some quality at times but always gives 100% and chips in with a few important goals here and there. I would be very inerested to know if he's not happy with the clubs offer or he just wants a new challenge elsewhere.

IloveFFC

Squad really short now.

Willian and BDR off. Tosin off. Palhinha off. Ballo Toure off.

TK need to act really fast. Silva can't wait to deadline day to have 3 or 4 incomings

Rate him as a squad piece but never really comfortable with him as a starter if we wanted to step up, his game time is so sporadic here I can understand him wanting to change it up tbh. Wish him well and grateful massively for his contributions here such a useful player to have but time to try and upgrade as a whole.

demeant0r

He's been getting less and less game time so can understand his hesitancy to sign a new deal. He's a good back up but not good enough if we want to consistently finish in the top half.

That does mean we need to sign at least five players before August to replace the outgoings otherwise we risk having a very unsettled squad in the first match.

Don't think much will be announced until after Palhinha deal is finalised. Probably have players lined up but club staying silent until deal is done.

I can see that happening unfortunately.

Deeping_white

We had a deal lined up for Bruun Larsen a few weeks ago that was pending Denmark being out of the euro's to progress, so maybe explains BDR leaving as he would be our new utility forward

mrmicawbers

BDR last big contract and I'm sure Leicester are offer a longer deal than we were prepared to offer. If they go back down he will help them get back up.Good for both parties.

Lighthouse

One of my favourite players. Always gave everything in whatever position he was asked to play in and was able to score a few as well. BDR a great team and utility player. I will miss him and wish him all the best at Leicester.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Bassey the warrior

Good luck to BDR, we got the absolute most from him but it's time for us both to move on. I hope he gets the same reception from the fans that he did here.

There's lots of work to do in the market, but I trust the recruitment team to get it right. I just hope they can get things moving pronto.

Quote from: Ffc10_ on July 04, 2024, 08:31:18 PMI'm the person who said don't be offended get a grip, my grandad did just over a year in trablinka he's long dead 22 years ago like 99% of people that were actually there, I've probably forgotten more about the Nazi party than you'll ever know researched it to death, I'm not offended and I don't think the poster meant it to be,it was just a silly thing to post and not at all amusing

I'm not sure it's about whether you or others are offended, rather it's about the utter tastelessness of invoking the name of a mass murderer and torturer. Some will be offended for sure, others won't but I would suggest it's hard not to be shocked by such a crass "joke".
Couldn't even spell it correctly either.

As most probably know

I'm forever in the getting the "right players" in for the long haul, over settling for those who might be further down the list because they're available to us or easier to tie up earlier( or at inflated prices) initially. We'll have the old debate of how essential it is to have extensive training camps etc or we throw the first few games, but I don't think we're in that situation personally and it didn't bare out in the last few years either really.

Our current starting 11 team is probably

Leno
Castagne Diop Bassey Robinson
Reed Lukic
Traore Periera Iwobi
Muniz

With a bench of:

Benda
Tete
LDF
Ream
Cairney
Wilson
Stansfield
Jiminez

Then probably one of

Harris, Tanton, Dibley dias or at an outside shot - Josh King.

That's a team capable of picking up points in this league as it is as we know from experience, but no doubt at all we all know it will need more quality and depth joining in for sure (especially if we have more outgoings)
If we can get a couple in early, all the better, And it will beyond doubt be added to as we go this summer as always. So I'll see where we're at come the end of August as ever and look forward to seeing if the club can keep up the good form on the transfer front wherever they land.

Drewry66

I really thought that as soon as the 30th of June passed we'd have at least one player straight in that we had been working on. More fool me eh. Absolutely dead isn't it.

 ::cry::

Nothing ever changes does it.

hoping Harris and some the other 21s like the young Canadian get a chance alongside Stanfield this coming season.

Quote from: Angus Telford on July 05, 2024, 10:59:40 AMI'd like to see us fill some of the squad roles left by the likes of BDR with a punt on youngsters around the 17-21 bracket
Problem is we've seen this movie before.
They make a splash and then get their heads turned by a " bigger" club and we're lucky to get a half decent return.
I wonder sometimes why we bother with an academy that is in reality a training school for Liverpool and spuds.
Brentford gave up on it and it hasn't hurt them at all.

the Brentford model is as a club they work in tandem with Frank and act really quickly with proper planned transfers.
Where as we do the opposite at Fulham.
We have good youngsters we should play them as if we don't we should bin the academy unless we play them it's stupid otherwise.
