So you think it has legs so therefore you think the Khans are selling up... eh? Birmingham might want him but no way he goes for 5m as Ive seen gossiped. Fulham arent a charity and Stansfield is 10-12m minimum and that is too much for League 1.

I can see where Cottages is coming from. We just seem a lot more efficient getting players out the door than in the door. I just said on another thread, our net spend since promotion as it stands, halfway into our third summer window, is £19m (based on Transfermarkt figures). We'd need to spend £200m this summer just to bring our net spend into line with Bournemouth's over the same period, a club which surely has even lower revenues than us. It raises the question.

But for all their spend Bournemouth haven't drastically performed better than us so you could argue that our spend has been far more cost effective.

If anything we've outperformed them. Yes they finished a point above us last year but year before we were tenth and no hint of a relegation crisis all year unlike them.

Also, I'm not sure I want the club to have a net spend of minus £200 mill over a couple of years... it's hardly sustainable (especially if there's no material sporting advantage)

I have insider knowledge that we're spending our entire transfer kitty on cleaning the Hammersmith End toilets. Not clear whether it will make a dent.

A few years ago I did an accountancy course and FFP seems to work against all the basics of accountancy.tosay our net spend is 19 million that can't be after wages paid.the one thing is clear that we shift players out with more vigour than getting them in,but at least when we sell them we make profits.
All this does back up SK statement when he became the owner that we will be as a club self sufficient and he's proving it.

To be honest, spending money you don't have doesn't make sense any way but in football it's accepted, encouraged even, that you need to spend big to win things even though only a very small number of clubs will ever be profitable.

It's amazing that I still feel (would feel in Fulham case)about a rash of signings very happy indeed, sigh we can dream.

We are supposed to be one of four clubs looking at signing Alexis Saelemaekers from Milan. Played mostly at left wing for Bologna last season.

Strange, one minute your spouting off how much you know about club meetings and what's been said and the next you apparently know nothing.

I don't want to detract from bringing posters like this to the forum as its silly season and its what makes it fun but I do find a lot of the ITK accounts from prior years quite funny. It's the air of 'I have insider knowledge  ::wink::  ::wink:: ' to 'Corr blimey, whats going on, this all took a turn didn't it!.  ::tongue::

If people just came on and went 'Saw this online' or 'heard from a guy I know at the club but its early days' etc etc I think no stick would be given......But come on....this ITK has gone from claiming he knows about secret transfer meetings to selling Jay Stansfield to Birmingham equating to ulterior motives by our clubs owners to wanting to sell up  :slap:

This really is silly season, back with a bang.  ::wine::

😂😂 - I can see how the comment sounds in hindsight. However, I was saying I think that because the Stansfield story is showing signs of life (a fact), it could be viewed as a way of the Khan's tapping out (a hypothesis).

After all, look at the Mitro money, still mostly untouched.

Yeh, its just a bit of a stretch. The Mitro money only gets accounted for in this open period, hence why it wasn;t spent last year, and I don't think we can really judge right now about motives of spend when the money hasn;t been spent (and some will, we know that). I think we can perhaps have this chat post window if the net spend is evens or profitable but the squad is paper thin  and covered with say, old players and loans like the MAF days of decline but we're a long way from that. Our current squad is competitive, but I'd expect some signings to strengthen it again.

Hope my post came across as more light hearted than confrontational though. I appreciate all the ITK stuff as much as the twitter bots and sky sports heads.

Fulham Tup North

::scarf:: Regardless of when we sign some new players and regardless of how much we pay for them... can we please all agreed that in three months time, if they turn out to be amazing signings then we praise Silva for his insight and knowledge ... and if they fail to make an impression can we still blame TK.....??
I would hate old habits to change  :slap:  :slap:

Don't worry mate, taken as light hearted banter. I have to say, I don't really believe the text I was sent re Stanno either. The Khan bit was my head going 100mph. Hopefully we get some through the door this week following the meeting on the weekend. COYW

This is incorrect.

It will appear in the accounts we publish/submit to the PL this season - maybe thats the reason some people are confused about this - but they will be the accounts for last season.

Can one of the FFP gurus confirm? As I swear this was hot topic and it ended up being it was falling outside of last window and the expectation was that it was falling into this window cycle?
