Just tested positive for Covid for the first time, so I deemed it fair to introduce a cold dose of reality to these transfers:
1.  ESR was limping coming out of his medical, wasn't he?  Yes, he's going to Portugal, but it wouldn't surprise me if the team physios will have the final say.
2. Didn't both Chalobah and McT say early on that they didn't want to come to Fulham? They could be just red herrings whilst the real targets are being worked on in the background.
3.  I thought Stansfield played well in a cup game two seasons ago.  And he scored a cracking goal as I recall.  How many chances has he been given since then?
4.  Andre. This is the third season we've been tryin to get him, right? Fluminese are impossible to deal with.  Moving goal posts on the deal all the time, wanting money upfront whilst keeping him for yet another half season.  If this deal happens, it will either be on deadline day, or not at all.  I reckon the latter by a team practiced in the art of stuffing brown paper bags with pesos.  I don't think that is who we are.

Now, that has exhausted me.  Back to sleep.

You're right, and I do get it, but the last 24-48 hours have felt like it's gone on for a week. It's been a painstakingly slow process. That being said, it looks like he's signed and just waiting to be announced and is an exciting signing as you say. Can't wait to see him start to play and express himself.

Also played for Lorient who conceded the most amount of goals in Ligue 1 last season and got relegated. I appreciate when you concede that number of goals (66), it's never just one players fault, but the teams more generally, but surely Chalobah is a better option. Interesting to see more noise being made about bringing in CB's now ESR seems to be getting done.

Yes, seems that way certainly, and as I said earlier, Ihope that the next signing will be a centreback, even before a dm/cm, as we have just 3 senior centrebacks.

As for Toure, I have never seen this player play, so no clue how good he is. Is there someone on this forum who watched him?

Chalobah is 6ft 4 too, so not exactly small. He'd be my preferred option as things stand.
