30m for mctom is too much! I'd move on if this is the only figure they would accept.

SimonDaviesEnjoyer

I wouldn't really want to pay 30m for McTominay.

going rate from a supposed big club.

Finnans Right Peg

I'd we will sign him after the utd game for 25 million plus add ons

I am not a fan of Mctominay, but his output over the least 2 seasons hasn't been bad, in fact it is far better than ESR's (really happy we got him into our squad) and we paid a similar amount for him.

Personally do not think he is a holding midfielder more box to box and think our need for a holding midfielder is greater. However a good holding midfielder and Mctominay wouldnt be too bad, think Mctominay is a better box to box than Harrison Reed personally, not a popular opinion I know.

At least we are showing ambition and if Marco wants him I hope the club can get him. Fee will be increased as he is a British player and home grown so there is always a premium on that

Yeah, I think the likely solution if we sign him is a deal which meets both expectations, but with Man utd's met through add-ons and performance related bonuses. Wouldn't pay £30m for him up front.. £20m-£25m maybe..

gang

If the asking price is £30 million and we offered £20 million we obviously don't want him enough; or is it a case of what's £10 million between friends?
There's haggling and there's haggling with a chance.

It's got £25m + £5m in add ons written all over it. As an 8 next to Andre or Lukic this could work really well. He would give us more goals and would be good experience next to Andre or could work well with Lukic.

Apparently our offer was circa £23m - part of me thinks it's to speed up Fluminense selling us Andre, although I can see a scenario where we would want both players, albeit Flu might not realise that. Ultimately we're bidding against two Turkish clubs who aren't offering what we are, and United will need to sell him to buy Ugarte so I think the asking price will slowly drop, and miraculously become viable after we play them first game of the season

Yeah, I think goals seem to be something that makes McTominay stand out for us. I think if he does play alongside Andre then it could see him perhaps do better too? 8 goals from a CM is good going in the PL, and not something we've had consistently at this level for a while.

Considering we had our most productive goalscoring season last year and we had 4 last year from Palhinha, 3 from Pereira and 2 from Cairney..

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/fulham/top-scorers

It'd be an area of increased productivity for us. We need someone with that ability for long range strikes and who can run on to the ball at the edge of the area.

That's essentially combining the goal contributions of Pereira, Cairney and Palhinha from last season and putting them into one player, whilst still having Cairney and Pereira available to us.

In fact, if McTominay scored 8 goals this coming season for us, he'd have been 2nd in our top scoring charts for the season..

We think Muniz did well and made an impact scoring 10.. I think many on this board would be pretty happy if McTominay scored 8 goals and were reminded of his ability by that stat alone.

Neutral Zone Ultra

Anything above £20m for McTominay and we should walk away in my opinion.

It appears that there's a Palhinha regen in the bundesliga playing for Koln who might be worth a bid

Exactly this. We don't have anyone who really crashes the box late and that is what he does. He actually started his career as a striker. He's not outstanding in other areas but is all round solid. All my mates support Man U and they all like him and would prefer they kept in as he came up with so many crucial goals. A tonne of experience at a high level. We do tend to make under appreciated players better and big fish in smaller pond I think he could do really well under Marco who clearly seems to be all over this according to reports. Looks like we are getting a load of young players with huge potential which for potential resale for PSR is crucial. One really solid 27 year old with a tonne of prem experience for circa £25m with some add ons who offers us something we don't have for the next 4 or 5 years just makes sense to me even without the resale potential.

Tbf crashing the box and turning up to finish out of nowhere is a trait ESR is well known for, but certianly not averse to having 2 of those types around!

This is the thing and what I like about the whole new set up if we pull it off. ESR has the potential to get circa 10 goals a season as does McT. Sess will probably chip in with some as well. I think Adama fully fit will contribute as well. Takes a hell of a lot of pressure off Muniz if others are scoring which hopefully leads to goals for him as well. Losing a a handful from BDR, JP and Willian but not huge numbers so really important that players coming in can replace those goals and improve on their numbers to take us to another level which I believe the likes of ESR, Sess and McT could do.

Woolly Mammoth

Sign him, it will strengthen the team and create serious competition for places.
He is Premier League and brought up through the roots in English Football.
So like ESR he knows the routine and will settle in quickly which is what we want.
No fannying around with so called settling in periods.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

Never forget your Roots.

Do we have any foot soldiers in and around Lisbon Airport? There's a few flights arriving today from Sao Paulo and Rio?

I think he announced he was staying with Köln even though they will now be in Bundesliga 2.

Brum want Luke Harris on loan according to SSN. Hopefully we turn that down flat and either play him or find him a better level of football.
