Craven Mad

Toney's age, short contract and historic behaviour are obviously a barrier to clubs bidding big on him, but I am sort of surprised that Arsenal haven't gone for him.

A top-level goalscorer feels like the final piece of the puzzle for them, and this could be the year they finally beat Man City.

Big fee, high wages and not the proper right sided centre half we need as he lacks height.

Presuming he's available for around £20m to £25m then I think that fee is fine- presuming he is fit. And like any player we sign wages have to be reasonable, if we are going to sign a top centre back you are looking at about £70k to £100k per week (probably what Andersen will be on if he joins us), so presuming Gomez is happy with that then okay- although given his injury record he should be on the lower end- perhaps a deal where his wages go up if he performs well.

I wouldn't say he lacks height, he's 6 foot 2 inches.

Somerset Fulham

Quote from: wback on August 18, 2024, 03:38:07 PMWhen Silva talks about "one more player across the front line", what about Raheem Sterling on loan for a year? Yes, he misses chances, but he's still quick as.

He is on a different level to anything else we currently have and he clearly wants out of Chelsea too.

We need something on Robinson's wing as he is faultering but Toney to Fulham would solve our problems with our strikers. But Fulham do not have the spending power of Bournemouth, do we?
Nick Bateman "knows his footie"

I was thinking the same thing

Would gladly take Sterling on a loan where Chelsea cover a large portion of his wages but if they are accepting that than someone more appealing(read: in Europe) would take him on the same terms so doubt it's possible unless he just refuses to leave London.

Youd think hed have bigger offers from somewhere

Don't think he's overly high up our list but a decent young player from what ive seen at Roma. One of those id be keen to see how he gets on, a good honest hard worker. Can see dyche liking him.

But think our priority options are elsewhere.

hovewhite

Could see Decoure from Everton as DM ,he's worked with Silva and every player has his
Price there.

The mighty Bournemouth. 11k attendances.

Sterling is supposedly on 350k, so would be well beyond what we can pay.

Somerset Fulham

I presume that Toney is off to Arsenal? I'm not sure that they actually need him but I can't think where else it could be.

At the price range available, Chelsea if the Oshimen situation falls short. Watching Jackson now and he's embarrassingly bad....

Saudi reportedly. I think his character may have been offputting for PL managers.

Jackson is consistently bad...I don't know why he keeps being selected for Chelsea, but as a Fulham fan I'm glad he is!

Somerset Fulham

I didn't think of Chelsea or Saudi actually.

Jackson is abysmal and certainly needs replacing, although for as long as he isn't replaced, I am good with it.

He certainly brings the entertainment value!  :slap:

I would love to see him and Nunez in the same side.  :slap:

Deuce

Jackson had a poor start to his season but he got his act togheter and scored 14 goals in the prem. Not too bad for someone who is consistently bad.

In comparison, according to some, Muniz was "fantastic" last season and he scored 9 goals.

That's a Chelsea marketing line. Look at his xG and conversion rate. Was the worst on the league by an absolute margin.
