Now that I can easily agree with. My point was that stats are rarely meaningless (unless we are talking spurious correlation or just made up nonsense). I complete agree that what I see is usually my number one go to as evidence but stats can sometimes enrich our understanding or highlight something we hadn't noticed. Meaningless they are not.

Never heard of Vladyslav Vanat, but looks like he likes playing off the shoulder of defenders from the highlight reels.

A bit of a gamble but that is why we have Jimenez and Muniz to fall back on if it doesn't pan out.

When it comes to penalties, Matthew Le Tisser is not much better at than Mitrovic and a lot worse than Ivan Toney in terms of the eye test, but statistical (in terms of conversation rate) Le Tisser is the best ever in the PL.

Which is correct assessment method for best penalty taker the eye test or the statistics? For penalties, statistics measure performance very well and the eye test is deceptive.

The question is not whether statistics are meaningful but what statistics don't measure. But remember in football what isnt measured by statistics gets smaller every season.

Robertson final ball as you say is the difference between him being a very good left to a world class left back. Kerkez is easy on the eye and certainly a lot more composed. Would still have Robinson over him as prefer a left back whose main objective is to defend first.

I've always thought the discussion about Robinson potentially going to a big club is overblown. Not sure he's technical enough for a big club that keeps the ball, and we'd demand a big fee.

Only big club I can see being interested is United, as they need players who are hard working with right attitude.

Muniz is the player in our squad I can see being sought after by bigger clubs.

Peter Rutzler is very good for Fulham. David Ornstein tends to be just about the most reliable journalist.
