Quote from: Drewry66 on May 24, 2025, 10:43:59 PMThis one is interesting...Ben Doak from Liverpool. FF News says he's heard he's one on our list:

https://x.com/FulhamTransfer/status/1926342804692730144

Been on loan at Boro. Only 19. Liverpool apparently want £30 million. Supposedly Everton, Palace and Bournemouth are sniffing around. 7 assists and 3 goals in the championship this year.

Boro fans absolutely raving about him on their forum. Comparing him to Adama in terms of ability to take folk on but in their words with a better end product/football brain. His attacking carries and assists stats are impressive. Also sounds like he is a grafter and has a tonne of confidence. Many seem to think he's going to be a star and potentially good enough for Liverpool.

Never actually watched him play as not watched the champ this year. £30m still seems very steep but potentially somewhere around £20m to £25m could be a good investment if he's as good as the Boro fans think and he can make the step up? Only thing is he's a right winger and we need a left more but an interesting one and like the profile.

Anyone seen him play?

Yes please!

Seen bits in champ and looks very talented . Very high ceiling if he stays injury free. Liverpool buddies rate him but don't see him getting game time there

Very tricky winger with a great turn of pace, apparently some injury concerns but can can see Liverpool cashing in as let's face it he's not taking Salahs spot this year and Liverpool don't really play with conventional wingers which he is.

Would love this one to be honest although agree we're pretty stacked at RW already. That said ...Silva does love an inverted winger and I think he might do a good job with Robinson tearing down his left side allowing him to cut in and curl in shots much like Solomon and William have done for Fulham

Drewry66

Yeah Doak looks an exciting prospect. Bigger risk than Chukwaze at £12m but bigger potential possibly.

It's weird that all the rumours so far seem to be for a right sided winger. No issues bringing one in but as you say pretty well stocked there. Left is the bigger priority so perhaps we bring in one each side. To be fair wingers are the most subbed positions to freshen up and change games and lack of depth with injuries there have killed us this season so personally no issues bringing another two in.

I can see Ben Doak working if we sell Wilson, who seems to have some interest from the newly promoted sides.

Main problem is that Silva seems reluctant to rely on traditional wing play, often to our detriment. Was a while when he insisted on putting Traore as an inverted winger.

Yeh he likes the invert but to be fair I think it could work with Doak and Robinson.

That said I don't think wilsons going anywhere given the contract extension, but maybe young Doak might see the Harry's had a decent career here post Liverpool youth and see it as a good option.

Not sure I'm as enamoured with chukwueze, though weve been linked a few times now, another who's way more RW that left. watch a bit of Italian footy here and there due to Roma links and think he's been mostly poor there from what I've seen

Somerset Fulham

Silva has apparently told Talksport that TC won't be here next season.

I don't believe that.

It is why I have caveated really, but it is an Alex Crook post on Twitter. I don't do Twitter anymore but have seen a picture of the post on Facebook but I don't know how to post pictures on here.

If you can follow absolutely any of that.

The picture is a post on Fulham Fanzone on Facebook.

Deuce

Ben Doak is right footed, so he could just as well play on the left so im not so sure its a "him or Wilson"-thing

If TC is leaving, as seems likely, then personally I would also sell AP and try to use those two squad places to inject more creativity and goal threat through the middle (I think we are to reliant on our inverted wingers). It will be interesting to see if King is trusted to step up and whether we go into the market for a playmaker?

demeant0r

Maybe, and hopefully, the plan is to let TC leave and have King step up in place. If by the January transfer window King is not doing well then we're being in someone on loan.

However we still need to bring in a captain who starts week in week out.

Agree sell Andreas. Can't fault his workrate but ball control and midfield, open play creativity is way below what is needed.

MickTheBeard

A successful side scores spread all over the team then you hopefully prioritise on a 20 goal striker midfield and defence let us down in scoring opportunities.

I think the TC for King sub yesterday was intended as a bit of a handing over of the guard moment. When I saw the team sheet I had a feeling that would happen, obviously the hope would have been it would have been in more glorious circumstances. But felt symbolic none the less

I agree. TC's body language leaving the field and on the bench looked like someone who was playing his last game. Personally I hope it is not the case because the last 2 games are a reminder of what he still has to offer in a supporting role.

TC's representatives are speaking with the club next week about a possible contract renewal, ie still up in the air and nothing definitively decided.
I suspect it comes down to whether he will accept a year deal or not.

Are there any legs in the Wrexham rumours?
