From August???!  :slap: They won one of their first 12 premier league games (or 2 of their first 17).

Yeah they got the result against us in the cup, but for 35 minutes (until their deflected goal) they were lucky to still be in the game.

I kind of thought that Glasner had Silva's number over those two games. Reminded me of how Eddie Howe use to toy with Slavisa but not to that extreme.
We did help Palace in both games at home with both missed chances and a couple of poor mistakes which cost us and slightly flattered them on both occasions. I would still back us to have a better season than them in the league over a campaign.

Cup game, yes we started well but then got completely rolled over, absolutely crap afternoon.

In the league they got more points than us from game week 4 onwards.

Why are people arguing about bloody Palace and Fulham and who has a better track record last season and in general on recruitment.....Can we get this back to interesting transfer rumours (and really silly ones) please.

If this happened watch him go hardcore Fulhamish pinging a free kick top left, a 30 yarder top right and 3 assists from corners against us next season.

 :slap:

Seriously though be great if genuine prem interest as could hopefully get £20m+.

Would you have him back? I feel like 30m for a 30 year old is quite steep but if we get two good seasons out of him then could potentially be worth it. I think he is better than Berge but maybe not by 30m that could be spelt elsewhere

Happy Summer. Same old same old.

Diarra looks a very promising replacement for AP. If theyre demanding 30 they'll probably settle for 23/25+ addons you'd think.

From what I've seen elsewhere about Palhinha we are looking at a loan deal. Not sure he'd want to go back on a permanent deal but I can see him wanting to play a lot more next season so he has a chance to play in the World Cup.

He's a very different profile to Berge, if we have Palhinha instead of Reed as an option then it would be amazing choosing between Berge, Lukic and Joao for different games.

Agree on concern of price for age. In club finance terms it's probably quite an easy one to do and likely wouldn't involve spending money, but a change to the terms of payments from Bayern in terms of what's owed.

I'd love to find the next Palhinha, but one of my favourite players ever - would bring a lot of joy to see him back.

He'd be more competition for Lukic than Berge. Berge generally plays the 8 where Lukic plays the 6 with Sander only generally moving further back when Lukic is subbed off or injured/suspended

Personally if we can get them to £25m range I'd be all over it. One of the best ever Fulham DM's if not the best, our biggest issue was closing out games last year imo. I think a defensive powerhouse like that who can also add to our aerial threat and score occasionally would be well worth it and could make the difference if we can get 3 good seasons out of him. Said it before but with sports science 30 isnt the same as it used to be.

João - 25m
Diarra - 25m
Nelson - 10m
A Striker - 20m
Pray we re-sign Tete or: 15m on Van Ewijk
Backup GK - 5m

AP out for 20m
Reed out for 5m

Net: 75m spend.
And room for some loans if needs be.

Would be very excited with that tbh.

Quote from: hopper on June 19, 2025, 11:36:13 PMOn the Palace chat, they do have advantage of having been in PL longer than us, but they have done far better than us at buying from Championship. Eze, Olise, Wharton are all players we could hypothetically have been in for but it's a market we just don't use.

Do envy them that. Have we had a single player as good as Eze in our PL years? Dembele and Saha I guess come close, but my god he's so good.
Well said Hopper.
Bournemouth also use that market very well.

It's the other way around. Berge only plays as a 6, and Lukic plays as an 8 and only plays as a 6 when Berge doesn't play. They interchange sometimes when they play together, but 90% of the time, Berge is the one that's further back.

That's why I don't see why we would get Palhinha back. Berge seems to be only able to play as a 6 in Marco's system and so does Palhinha. Considering we bought Berge last season, for pretty big money, it makes no sense to me to get Palhinha now and essentially have two of them fight for one spot.

We should get a number 8 and have Berge and Lukic as number 6 options and Lukic and the new number 8 as 8 options.

According to Peter Rutzler, our shopping list is a RB, number 8, forward and a winger. He's one of the only journos I ever believe when it comes to FFC.

As much as I'd love João as per Jim's comment no mention from Rutzler and Marco himself said a few weeks ago that 6 isn't a position we need. Who knows if things have changed since then but based on what Marco said and backed up by Rutzler it would seem highly unlikely and you'd imagine false rumours. Agree with SL hmthat Berge is the primary 6 and Lukic secondary although I think Lukic has been better at 6 than at 8 for us.

If Marco/the club did want him back and the deal was right a midfield of Berge/Joao rotating at 6 and Lukic and new more attacking 8 rotating at 8 would be pretty spectacular and I'd love it if it somehow happened.

Would be great to get Palhinha back even on loan? For me both Berge & Lukic would be capable subs as opposed to regular starters. They will both have parts to play over a season but you need more from your midfield than both offer. Perhaps there is an argument to try Joao further forward and play either one of the other two as more holding?

If we don't get a good 6 in then we can look forward to another season of every shot from outside the box flying past Leno again. Would be disappointed if we get another season of Reed as back up.

You're forgetting about Osmihen and/or Nunez.
