Quote from: Drewry66 on June 20, 2025, 11:16:00 AMAs much as I'd love João as per Jim's comment no mention from Rutzler and Marco himself said a few weeks ago that 6 isn't a position we need. Who knows if things have changed since then but based on what Marco said and backed up by Rutzler it would seem highly unlikely and you'd imagine false rumours. Agree with SL hmthat Berge is the primary 6 and Lukic secondary although I think Lukic has been better at 6 than at 8 for us.

If Marco/the club did want him back and the deal was right a midfield of Berge/Joao rotating at 6 and Lukic and new more attacking 8 rotating at 8 would be pretty spectacular and I'd love it if it somehow happened.

If we don't get a good 6 in then we can look forward to another season of every shot from outside the box flying past Leno again. Would be disappointed if we get another season of Reed as back up.

Im all for getting João back but didn't sound like Marco was. To be fair someone mentioned some stats on another thread re Leno that we let a load in from outside the box in João s last season as well although not directly seen those stats myself.

For me we do need two midfielders as hoping Reed and AP go. Perhaps Marco doesn't want them gone but would seem strange as he just didn't seem to trust Reed. We all know how he loves AP however so we will see.

I imagine Marco is happy with Lukic and Berge as two 6's (that's what his comments seemed to suggest) but João is clearly an upgrade defensively. By all accounts so far all we are looking for is one attacking 8 but surely that leaves us short if Reed and AP did end up going so who knows.

Think a midfield of Lukic, Berge, JP and a brilliant attacking 8 would be outstanding but to be seen if Marco agrees from the way he's talked.

Thread should be called general summer discussion.

We won't sign anyone for another month at the absolute minimum so transfer chat is essentially worthless at this point.

At time of writing this you have to count back 13 posts to see the latest transfer rumour post (now 14).

The real spam every year is the posts moaning about it.

Pereira linked with Wolves. I dont like this guy and the lack of respect he has for the club.

Good player but off with him. Get someone in who wants to be here

Josh King should definitely see more minutes competing with ESR for the 10 (with Iwobi and Wilson as other options). I don't think Pereira needs replacing.

We were light a CM anyway last season even before Reed going, hence Pereira and Iwobi both seeing decent time there. We should be targeting a starting 8 (to directly compete with Lukic/Berge on day one) and a young 6/8 for competition/development.

Normally I would say no disrespect to Wolves but on this occasion I don't think it applies? What a backward step that would be let alone uninspiring move if rumour/s were true? I think if he goes he'll either go abroad Europe or back to South America. He gives me the impression he feels like he should be playing at a higher level but performances over a season put that very much in doubt? I like him very good technically but not influential enough playing the No 10 role.

Where has Andreas shown disrespect for the club?

Somerset Fulham

Disrespect for being linked to a club in a worse state than us on a rumourmil website.

Blimey.

Well damn, that would be quite the coup. Would be suprised if we got him but we do need a good winger.

As ever it's all just rumours ay, but would be something to be excited about, looks a very good young talent

I've been saying for a while this is my dream signing for us, so yay! Really hope it happens.

Julien Laurens is very well connected and ITK on French football so there must be a degree of truth to it.

Fulhamtransfer's medal rating system for reliability is all over the place lol.

Yeah I wasn't talking about replacing AP in the 10 as like you I want that to be a fight off between King and ESR. AP played 8 most of last season so more an 8 replacement if he went. If Reed goes as well that's two needed at 8/6. We are definitely going for one 8. It's who we lose and whether or not we go for a second 8/6. Only one has been rumours so far but that is perhaps without losses. Don't want to see anyone come in at 10 as got to keep King.

Would be an unbelievable signing. FFN said a month or so ago he had heard from someone that we were going for a huge signing on the wing. This would be it. Would be incredible. Could I see us spending £40m? Yeah I'd say that was top end on one player if we do as reports suggest hace £100m to £150m FFP space. Question however is how the hell would we convince him to come?!

TBH given the fact he looks a huge talent, £40m doesn't seem like the biggest of risks given it's a position we know we need to fill, and if he has a half decent season a bigger club will quickly come calling and then we flip him for a profit. I'm sure his wages won't be massive either so if we do want to be progressive it's the sort of transfer we need to target, knowing we have money in the bank and assets like Pereira we can sell if we need to generate cash

It would be absolutely amazing. And yeah if he smashed it for us in the prem at 20 now he prob goes for £80m+ in a year or two. Other clubs like Wolves and Brighton have spent around the £40m mark and have managed to convince players so not impossible. I'd imagine we'd have to pay him a lot to convince him. We can but dream but as soon as frigging Chelsea or someone come in we're prob stuffed. Here's praying anyway as would be ridiculously exciting. Hopefully the kind of signing that stuffs a low block team.

Thought that was cleared up by Silva as being misquoted?

The player himself has spoken highly of the club many times since wherever happened back them.

The disappointing thing is that it's a good point and he often makes them.

But the smack talk at the end of almost every post makes them all irrelevant in my eyes.

Would you have him back? I feel like 30m for a 30 year old is quite steep but if we get two good seasons out of him then could potentially be worth it. I think he is better than Berge but maybe not by 30m that could be spelt elsewhere

He'd be more competition for Lukic than Berge. Berge generally plays the 8 where Lukic plays the 6 with Sander only generally moving further back when Lukic is subbed off or injured/suspended

Personally if we can get them to £25m range I'd be all over it. One of the best ever Fulham DM's if not the best, our biggest issue was closing out games last year imo. I think a defensive powerhouse like that who can also add to our aerial threat and score occasionally would be well worth it and could make the difference if we can get 3 good seasons out of him. Said it before but with sports science 30 isnt the same as it used to be.

João - 25m
Diarra - 25m
Nelson - 10m
A Striker - 20m
Pray we re-sign Tete or: 15m on Van Ewijk
Backup GK - 5m

AP out for 20m
Reed out for 5m

Net: 75m spend.
And room for some loans if needs be.

Would be very excited with that tbh.

I have to say I'd be pretty disappointed with this.

Re-signing Nelson, JP and getting Diarra in doesn't really necessarily feel like moving forward.

The rest are essentially backups/ development and a replacement for Kenny.

Would feel like we've spent a hell of a lot of money to essentially sign one new first XI player as competition at 8 from a decent team in a mediocre league alongside a third ST and a Benda upgrade whilst resigning a 30 year old ex-player (albeit a very good one)
