Really like Kenny - seems like a good person and super committed player. There was a time where he was just so hard to get past and really locked down that side defensively for us. However, perhaps because of the injury, that did slip a bit last season, and he seemed to be out of position more and less able to make the recoveries. And as good as he is defensively, he's only got 7 assists in three seasons. Robinson is nearly three times that. If we buy well, we can do better.

Agree there is definitely opportunity to do even better, the big blow is that it eats into our budget when attacking mids and wingers were the priority. Tete staying would have been perfectly serviceable for 1-2 years

Yeah defo a big concern defensively. I suppose you could play Timmy against the bigger teams and KWP to try and break down low block teams if im trying to find positives. Southampton fans seem to be incredibly complimentary about him in the main but some do note the defensive drop off the last few years. Worrying down tgat side with Andersen. Not sure the only right back that would weaken us defensively. Everyone we have been linked with looks like a massive defensive downgrade on Tete from what I've seen. Same concern with MVE and Bellanova looking at the stats. Coufal just looks dreadful going both ways.

Can't we cut a deal with Man City they pay lions share of Walkers wages and we take him on a years loan? Win Win he gets to play regularly and keep world cup ambitions alive in the top flight. He might have dropped a yard but he is still a very good right back and offers experience. He strengthens us more than Tete!!

Yeh if it were walker for a season or 2 while we focus more on strengthening our attacking and midfield positions I'd be open to that. Plenty wrote off Willian and he had a great season and then a decent one for us.if we could get that out of walker alongside Castagne, if we strengthen elsewhere potentially could be enough to sneak a European place and then push the boat out for a RB then, then there are worse plans.

Id love a Bellanova or Ewijk type but ifit proves too costly or a deal can't be done then I wouldnt be averse to walker at the cottage

Could just skim past it, but it's also helpful to point out when an 'ITK' seems spurious, as the only point of rumours is as a source of news, or we're just in fan fiction territory. Often then generates conversation about 'why are the club doing this etc'.

I wouldn't be against KWP, but the Bellanova rumour from Peter Rutzler is more exciting to me.

An upshot of Kenny leaving is that maybe we will be forced to be more offensive down the right, as we were too focused on left hand side last night.

The said Fulham fan comes across as a bit of a ****, but I guess he is trying to hard to get attention and clicks (like most people on Twitter/X).

Personally think Walker-Peters would be a very good signing. Hard to believe he is on as little as £20k per week, but regardless - would still likely be on a wage no higher than Tete.

The only ones that don't are pretty much Rutzler and in the main Romano but if we only had posts from them on here the transfer thread would be 3 pages long rather than 300! Prob far less of a waste of everyone's time but would be a very boring summer.

He's not "awful" at all. He's still not a slouch and he has other attributes besides pace. Veteran defender who's won it all

Given your preferance for negativity I've no doubt you were probably part of the crowd writing off William before he'd kicked a ball for us.

Is he top of my list? No, would I be worried having him and Castagne as our RB option for a year or 2 if it allowed us to spend big in more pressing positions, also no.

Seems to read the game very well from limited clips, but agreed he is indeed small. Is a risk being that small in stature in the Prem. That said his defensive stats suprisingly good for a lad just 21 and his stature (5 foot 4 - is that right?!) 1st in tackles and duals won for RB's in the Eredvise last year is impressive though so clearly gets stuck in! :

He can play in midfield as well though, I'm fairly sure he's played as a CM as well as a LB? He was essentially used as a central player in Arteta's system when they had possession so could see him as a midfielder for us who can cover LB
