I have always defended AP to a point but really is time for him to go this summer. Honestly anything north of £15m to £20m and I'd take it and let King fight it out with ESR. If he's still here next year I'd actually be pretty disappointed at this point.

If King turns out not to be good enough we have other options at 10 if ESR doesn't nail it. Prob is what better club than us that AP wants to go to is actually going to want him? Perhaps someone in Europe but just not good enough to go better than us in the prem.

Agree with the general sentiment on here. In the same way Reed was mega when we were promoted but now isn't essential, AP is known for his workrate more than his skill.

It's time for us to play players who have workrate AND technical ability.

Regardless of whether what he's said is true or not, now is the right time for the club to cash in and move on.

Defo. He's a decent player who never has any lack of effort and credit to him for that but the AND is crucial.  ::thumb::

All this angst, has anybody actually heard Pereira say this or is it just regurgitated tosh.

I think he claimed later this was a mistranslation, but this is what I think people are referring to:

For my part I was commenting on selling him regardless on what he has / hasn't said.

If we want to realise his value, now is a good time. He's 29, not a regular starter and still has time on his contract.

As others have said we have ESR, Wilson, King (and at a push potentially TC) who can play his position. Sell AP now for £15+ mill and we make a tidy profit and can reinvest while not losing any starting XI quality (but undoubtedly missing his great workrate).

He's a good servant and helped establish us at the top table. I'm not interested in getting into a slinging match about what he has or hasn't said as he's always looked 100% committed on the pitch for FFC.

I'd just much rather sell him now and reinvest that money on a McAtee (or even Reitz)

There are more rumours of players leaving than coming in . Let's hope Silva signs a new 3 year contract otherwise it could get messy trying to sign players he wants

Fulham have rejected Tottenham Hotspur's £32m offer for Rodrigo Muniz, according to reports from Brazil.

Bolavip reveal that Spurs' bid was immediately rejected by Fulham, who do not wish to sell their Brazilian striker this summer, and value the 24 year-old at £50m.

Forest have signed striker Igor Jesus for £10m.

Fulham the only side not to make a signing now in the Premier League. Who'd have thunk it!  ::wine::

I've not seen any evidence of any certifiable bids going in for anyone either. Perhaps we won't be signing anyone.

Quote from: StuinSalop on July 05, 2025, 05:13:05 PMWe can have ESR, King and Wilson compete for the 10.

We need a new no. 10. IMO this is priority #1 in our business this summer.

AP has been our weakest link for two years now, and is 30 soon. I'd let him go for a nominal £3-5m just to get him off the books, unless he's prepared to be backup, but I don't think his ego will allow that.

Wilson isn't good enough, maybe King will be someday but he isn't yet either. ESR may be an option but we can't count on him yet and also need him as a rotation winger.

No 10 is a crucial position where we have scope to make a marquee signing that genuinely upgrades us for once.

On average its around July 24th

Didn't the reporter then produce video of the interview in Portuguese to prove his side?

By which time the best available players will be snapped
up.
Most other clubs go out and get it done, we procrastinate and dither
So fed up with this  window after window.

Sorry, I couldn't resist it and it's NOT against what you've said!

This just isn't true. sorry

So many windows tons of great players become available or make transfers in the latter end of the window. Many managers and owners have said as much.

Leno
Iwobi
Willian
Mitro
Berge
Anderson (first time)
Berbatov
Danny Murphy

To name just a handful of ours

Other random prem late signings:

Gravenberch
Enzo ferdnandes
Cole Palmer
Makelele
Andy Robertson
Ozil
Ashley Cole (to Chelsea)
Berbatov (to united)
Torres
Shurle (to Chelsea)
Suarez

All last week or deadline daypurchases and I'm just throwing out a fraction here there's an endless list that clearly illustrates that the idea there's no one good left towards the later end of the window is flat out wrong. When one player signs for a club often it frees up another.

This notion all the good players will be gone just is not true. Some might get picked up sure, but majority of business gets done closer to latter end of the window.

This transfer approach saw us hit the clubs greatest ever points tally in the clubs history. Really dont think it's worth the amount of circling on it in early July personally

Much ado about nothing imo. I get in an ideal world ya get em all in early doors, but it's also something I think gets too much weight here especially this early

Well damn

Loan move with option for Luiz would be awesome replacement for AP if we can't secure Reitz.

Mbangula has alot of raw talent so an exciting wing prospect who could do with the Silva touch developmentally.

Exciting pair of signings if they came off.

Any player looking for a move isn't going to jump at the first offer he receives but wait to see what interest is out there. Unfortunately we aren't a big enough attraction for a player at the start of the window especially with no European football this season.
