Quote from: DM on July 16, 2025, 04:40:51 PMFulham are discussing a loan with an option or obligation in the region of £20m for Nelson. ⏳

Sounds like a prudent decision. Given he's prone to injury, a loan is the best path for his services. If he can compete without a long-term injury, then locking him makes sense.

Quote from: DM on July 16, 2025, 07:35:30 PMArsenal are open to the loan move for Nelson and both clubs are now working to get it over the line in the coming days.

Get him in with an option to play

So Brighton have signed (excluding frees) 5 players so far, from 5 different leagues, £70m total, with an average age of 20. Suppose we'll have to wait to see how they work out, mostly anonymous to me, but would love to see us operate like that.

Happy with reiss on a loan with option

A big IF if we can get him fit and back in form but hey, many had written off Sess and Raul too in that regard before they'd kicked a ball. I thought he looked a very good option to have when here and no doubt we were doing well with him in the squad.

Greedily would want another winger for security,or striker who can play wide. But Romulo hasn't really been wide player so far in his career and he's my favourite option we've been linked to.

Id imagine we'd keep godo here if we don't sign another winger.

Nelson/Iwobi/Wilson/Adama/Sess/Godo
(+ ESR if needs be)

Is still a very good set of wing options if not the Fofana level of excitement we'd been teased with the unlikely idea of

Defo want another winger and by all accounts we were after 2 so fingers crossed. Looks like Romulo has played a good handful of games right/left wing/midfield although clearly the majority as a 9. He does from the brief clips really look like someone who could start left and drift/dribble inside to shoot or pass to Robinson so wonder if Marco has that as a plan as an option? If we actually manage to get him will be interesting to see how he is used. That Tolu from Genk isn't playing anywhere but 9 by the looks of it! Another reason to hope we get Romulo then.

Apparently we've spoken to arsenal about Fabio viera as well according to the Fulham transfer account

Not seen this anywhere but would be a good signing imo and we love an ex Arsenal player - there's a reason they paid 35m for him and I'm sure Silva could get the best out of him (Remember our last Portuguese signing?)
Not sure we need another 10 though but would be an upgrade on Pereira if he is going. Can play on the wings also or as an 8.

Yeah just reading that. Zinchenko as well:

"While talking with AFC Fulham have also had discussions about Zinchenko & Viera. The formers wage demands are currently too high & the latter there have only been preliminary talks."

Apparently Viera only on £25k a week. Feels like he's been around forever but only just turned 25!

On loan at Porto last year. Did get 5 goals and 6 assists. Played half the games at 8 and half at 10 so covers either position. Supposedly no future at Arsenal. Very creative and good passer looking at the stats and from what I remember but sounds like he has lost his way a bit. Marco regen project? Could be an exciting one:

You would have thought we'd be buying him mainly as an 8. Could be a direct AP replacement and surely an upgrade.

Anyone else from Arsenal while we're at it.

Don't mind any of these players, but would be pretty funny if we added three to Iwobi, Leno, ESR

Trossard would really be amazing as it goes. But think that one is improbable.

Interestingly re Fabio, he has had as much experience as Pereira did when he signed for us, but is a year or less younger. So could still work, despite his career not quite getting going yet.

Yeah mad isn't it. Thing is they all make sense for both parties and the players.

 :slap:

We clearly have a good relationship with them. Will become a bit of a laughing stock of Arsenal rejects team but if they win us a tonne of matches who gives a F?  ::smile::

Suspect it's all a Truman show type ploy to make ESR feel at home

Reportedly only want £20m for Viera as well. Good dealings if true.  ::thumb::

Only played 800 mins in the prem and has 2 goals and 5 assists so a goal contribution pretty much every game.

Viera is a really talented player but I fear he's a bit too lightweight to play centrally in the PL - especially in a non-dominant side.

He'd likely be an upgrade on AP in possession, but a big downgrade out of it.

St Eve

Vieira sounds like a good fit for us

I would agree if we play 4-4-2 but we play 4-5-1, which means we have extra players around him to support. As long as he's willing to backtrack then he will do fine in Marco's tactics.

Yeah it's a good point. Is he a bit too similar to ESR? Does look more a 10 than 8 although played both plenty. I do like the idea as clearly a very talented player and sure Marco would have a plan but do totally get that concern.

Deuce

If we were after McAtee, and likely couldnt get him, then Vieira is a solid back up option. Left footed winger/10
