In fairness it must by now be expected that a transfer thread will heavily feature me arguing with Jayffc.

This made me chuckle, I won't lie.

Quote from: SP on July 17, 2025, 08:02:20 PMPerhaps the tour of the dilapidated Old Trafford & host of unloved/unwanted players was enough to convince Seth to stay?

Probably got rained on during a tv shoot in one of the stands.

"As for the question above "how did we get here"...if you read through you'll see it comes from a discussion on wether or not it makes sense to spend large amounts of budget on a CAM....it's a perfectly topical debate therefore for a transfer thread. If it's not of interest, again, there are x feeds where you can exclusively get transfer news and nothing else."

Or alternatively

You could start a " why don't you two get a room thread. " or perhaps' the Jay & Angus show " though perhaps that might have to be " Angus & Jay " ( alphabetical for neutrality )

Odoi's was better as he used the move to flick the ball past the defender.

After the January window thread IIRC he blocked me. Must have served my time.

Didn't think this one was a particularly bad exchange 😅 was on track till derailing around ESR. All still kinda links back to transfer needs at least

Again this is silly season thread, if people want a transfer rumour feed only just follow fulham fan news or the daily  Fulham stuff threads and you'll get exactly what ya looking for 🤷

As for the question above "how did we get here"...if you read through you'll see it comes from a discussion on wether or not it makes sense to spend large amounts of budget on a CAM....it's a perfectly topical debate therefore for a transfer thread. "Perfectly topical debate for a transfer thread"? Hmmm tangential at best imo. And anyway where is the "debate" in your arguments with Angus?
Never mind this sort of Pythonesque 60 second argument can be mildly entertaining I suppose.

1. Discussion began around merits of a Viera type player (whos been linked)
2. moved to different opinions and debate on if we should allocate large transfer budget to the CAM position or if it's better spent on other positions we're linked to in this thread.
3. Both Expanded on reason for justification of POV's with turned to some debate around ESR and wether he is played (or intended to be played) as our main CAM in competition with King - in relation to the need for transfer spend in this area.

That seems a pretty reasonable flow of debate in a silly season transfer thread not titled "rumours only"

It's the subsequent messages now that are derailing further from a matter of transfers. Can take a polite note (or perhaps DM?) about requests to go back to ignoring individuals posts (which this forum setup doesnt aid overly well) but maintain this was very much topical in this instance, especially at a time when it's not like rumours and signings are flying off the shelves. (which I'm the first to share and join in discussion on also)

Anyway, back to transfer rumours ay.

Any idea if this would be our only wing signing or if the club will want 1 more?

As I stated before ,  if we bring in a back up Left Back either permanent or loan that frees us Sess to play Left Wing and we only need a back up Left Wing either permanent or loan to come off the bench
If it wasn't for the medication I,d be chewing on your skin

Let's make it happen,

The 2 supposed opposite ends of the Fulham fan spectrum hash it out on why everything's terrible or great🤣

Failing that - charity boxing match 😅

Don't know, my opinion is that it would depend on the profile of Striker we bring in. If they can also play on the wing let's say.

Gotcha

But Romulo doesn't really seem to have been played there to date much. If he's still our current main target, which seems to be the case, then im interested to see if the club are comfortable enough with risking the injury situation.

As before - I suppose Nelson/Wilson/Traore/Sess/Godo with ESR also capable is still a good set of options, would rather Godo went on loan though with another winger brought in. If it goes well on loan we can look to ease in Godo for a 30/31 yr old Traore the following season depending on how hes getting on

I expect Godo will get his loan to the championship

Without trying to be rude, is this not a given seeing as Arsenal fly out to Singapore tomorrow? Sami Mokbel's piece said all parties were working towards concluding the deal as quickly as possible, ideally before Saturday. It's a shame there have been no further updates in the press since the story broke on Wednesday afternoon. I don't understand how a deal like this is dragging on in all honesty, especially when the player wants the move.

If we hear nothing before this evening, the biggest sign will surely be if Nelson travels with them or not. Fingers crossed he doesn't!

Supposedly the delay is they want an obligation where we only want an option so still being discussed.
