Without trying to be rude, is this not a given seeing as Arsenal fly out to Singapore tomorrow? Sami Mokbel's piece said all parties were working towards concluding the deal as quickly as possible, ideally before Saturday. It's a shame there have been no further updates in the press since the story broke on Wednesday afternoon. I don't understand how a deal like this is dragging on in all honesty, especially when the player wants the move.

If we hear nothing before this evening, the biggest sign will surely be if Nelson travels with them or not. Fingers crossed he doesn't!

He's not on the plane.

Do you get the feeling those tipping us off with inside knowledge of transfer goings on haven't a clue really!?

Can't say we're not efficient again. Must be pretty frustrating being a player flying all the way to Asia knowing you might have to fly back in a few days.

To be fair to him things can change or they can be tipped off with the wrong info. Fulham Fan News as above was also told he wasn't going and said it was very close from his contacts. Perhaps they have got to a sticking point on the detail.

Of course things change, but it was quite a factual post. If it's very close they wouldn't be flying him 13 hours across the world (in my opinion)

Drewry66

May have been factual at the time. Who knows but as I say two completely unconnected folk said they had heard he wasn't going. Fulham Fan News has 18k subscribers and pretty sure he's got a lot of contacts now and he tries to get tip bits off and he had heard he wasn't going and it was close. May be he was fed completely the wrong info or he wasn't going but Fulham/Arsenal just don't agree on a part of the deal so he is now. Deals fall through last minute all the time of course. Or maybe DM and FFN were just making it up?!

 :slap:

No way to tell of course.

He is presumably referring to "He's not on the plane"

Drewry66

You'd think if there is a sticking point it's the obligation. Just don't see how Arsenal hold any cards here and as much as I think he can be brilliant if he stays fit we don't want to be stuck with an injured player for the next 5 years so if it is that better off holding out until we get what we want.

Hugh Janus

It's quantity rather than quality with a lot of these claiming to know what is going on. Ornstein and even Rutzler must have much stronger contacts and yet post a lot less. I can't remember the last time a tip off actually came off. Nelson isn't travelling, now he's in the squad. :slap:  :slap:

"Fulham are looking at Benfica winger Karem Akturkoglu. He's an option for the other winger we are targeting."

11 goals and 9 assists last year for Benfica and he looks like a bit of a goal and assist machine through this career. Weirdly apart from goals and assists stats not incredibly impressive but they are the two most important ones of course!

https://fbref.com/en/players/f28659fb/scout/365_m2/Kerem-Akturkoglu-Scouting-Report

Benfica only bought him last year but cheap so perhaps turn a quick profit. They short on cash? If not seems a tough one to get. Clips reel looks like he is tricky with a low centre of gravity.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6NXpIgDenQs

Interestingly he is predominantly left so would be on top of Nelson suggesting we are looking for two left wingers. Ideally the other winger would be very comfortable both sides but I suppose predominately left makes more sense on top of Nelson? If we got Nelson we'd have Iwobi and Nelson out there. Nelsons injuries and Iwobi off to Afcon still short. Right we already have Adama, Wilson, Sess and Iwobi who are all comfortable there. Perhaps two predominantly left sided then? Looks like Arturkoglu has played 38 games right in his careers as well with 7 goals and 9 assists so looks decent out there as well.

I am not sure Arturkoglu is any better than Nelson, Wilson, Traore and Iwobi and we need to spend big on someone with a bit of magic who can make something out of nothing, player in the mood of Cunha or Eze, as we saw last season.

Based on what may I ask? Genuine question , have you watched alot of him? I dont know the player well but a G/A every 2 games across his career, similar at international and champs league level is pretty amazing for a winger albeit for 2 big clubs in less major leagues

I honestly don't know much about him. You watched him much for any feedback? Pretty incredible goal and assist record however and that is certainly something we need from our wingers so if he could transfer that to the prem all good with me.

Yeah would love a Cunha or Eze mate but unless we unearth some unknown gem from somewhere highly unlikely of course as we don't have £60+ million to spend and as with Fofana they won't be wanting to come to us if already that highly rated I am afraid.

Good player but not at the level above our current wingers so wouldn't improve our starting eleven, in my opinion.

Yep, I know players like Cunha and Eze are hard to find but I believe that is the Silva's aim.

FFN know no more than you or me. Just another football site as far as I am concerned.

They just regurgitate tweets

That is what he does in the main but I know he's linked in with Jack Kelly and others in the journalist circles. They all struggle to get much info out of the club but any tip bits he gets on the grapevine he mentions. Sure he is at least a little more connected than 99% of us.

His update just now he is saying talks ongoing and late decision whether he will actually get on the plane or not!  ::smile::

Believe that or not...ignore if you don't. It's silly season and better to get these bits of info for me than watching the tumble weed and arguments on here!

I have no connections at the club and I'm not sure they have either. Of the stuff they post how much if any of it ever actually becomes reality? And a huge amount gets posted. They have not got a clue. Much like me.
