Summer Silly Season Transfer Thread 2025

Whilst I agree that it's a transfer forum and should never be that serious, and also agree that there should never be abuse to a poster... I can't see where that has happened over the past few days? I just see someone posting something (which has turned out to be wrong) and people reacting to that. If you're going to put info out there, surely that can be expected? Again not excusing anyone crossing a line of being rude to that poster, but it doesn't look like anyone was rude to me from the posts above.

An example here in a post I reacted to:
"He's not on the plane." relating to Nelson. The reasoning given is "the info I was given at the time was that he wouldn't be on the plane." That's fine and makes sense to me, but  post exactly that rather than something factual! I think the issue comes from 'itk' posters speaking in factual language. People get their hopes up and then a get out of jail card is "things can change", very very true, but don't post as if it's 100% done then!

So by that logic if I wake up and decide to post something like...

"Done Deal - Fulham re-signing Palhinha. Club have done well to keep it under wraps in the media."

I shouldn't expect anyone to be frustrated when it's wrong?

Or maybe, just take things with a pinch of salt... if you only want 'Facts' then wait for them to appear on the offal pages?.. at least then you know it's a done deal... there are 1,000s of football transfer sites out there and 99% of them seem to get things wrong... we should just try to enjoy our summers.. the season will be here soon enough my friend  ::thumb::

Yep fair enough tbh mate. My point was for those that do get frustrated by people posting as if they have insider knowledge (seemingly a minority of us based on recent posts), there would be a very simple solution that would suit all. Say what you hear but caveat it, don't speak as if you're David Ornstein.

The circular jabbing at anyone who posts "ITK" has been an ongoing theme for years not just this one moment, which is why admins have said something, it's not related to an isolated incident but a general theme often from the same people over an extended period so the admin message was preventative more than addressing one thing

DM has posted enough mini bits before they've appeared online to have some possibility there's some info he's privvy to. He might have just guessed, sure, but If he'd never got a single thing ever right, people wouldn't pay it any credence whatsoever and fair enough. But can totally appreciate admins stepping in at this point

I think saying he's speaking like he's David ornstein in itself is a bit mean spirited and unnecessary, he's made clear before he's just passing on what he's told, it should be understood that's the case by now. He just said one sentence based (allegedly) on what was the case when he was told it. And seemingly that was repeated by others with potential links to the club (like jack Kelly) who've got other stuff right before.

Doubt we'd stretch to that but you could pat yourself on the back for making a few hundred people deliriously happy for 15 minutes.

Go ahead and post that if you want, would find people making up rumours less annoying than the yearly witch hunt completely derailing the thread as per usual.

Quote from: irish_mike on July 20, 2025, 10:25:20 AMLeno had a big drop off last season compared to his debut season.

Really soured on him if that's his view on gay people.

Club dont seem to be linked to any keeper mind

Agree with this, he is very handsomely paid and underperformed last season. If he can't even keep from endorsing terrorist hate crimes, even as a joke, I would like to see him moved on.

Now it is possible that he fat fingered or that he didn't properly look at it so I'm not going to hold off on judgement on it until there is context. But it ain't a good look.

Rightwhite

Member posts transfer info/rumour on a transfer rumour thread and gets rinsed for it. Lol. You cant make.it up. Who cares if its right, wrong, ITK or whatever? Its all part of the silly season transfer thread. Clues in the name for crying out loud.

Rightwhite

There was another member on here called Cottages I think who had some info/rumours. Where have they gone I wonder ? Probably been put off by all the moaning lol.

Pavel Dempsey

Quote from: SP on July 20, 2025, 08:55:42 AMI wouldn't have him on a free:

'Chelsea hope to sell England winger Raheem Sterling for around £20m, recouping some of the £47.5m they paid Manchester City three years ago for the 30-year-old. (Sun on Sunday)'

LOL. 20m, good luck with that.

Do you really judge a people by a "like" on social media? What a woke nonsense.

On top of that Leno was as good as ever last season. One of the last members of Fulham squad I would look to replace.

All information within this post is speculation only, and if you don't agree with what someone is reporting, then just pass it on by.

In previous seasons, we've seen some decent members chased off this Forum for simply sharing what they know.

In some instances, people get stuff wrong, that's life, and also part and parcel of football speculation.

We welcome people to share their information here, but if we find they are being abused for simply doing so, those responsible will be warned or banned from using this Forum.

Absolutely agree, I no longer take any Fulham news seriously anymore about potential signings in preseason.
Not until the club announces it officially, that way I do not build myself up for a disappointment.

Of course nothing wrong in discussing what may happen during the preseason, that is what the forum is for, and we all hope we can pick up the targets we need, but then so are other clubs, and players can be spoilt for choice.

The only gripe I have which I have even considered making an official complaint to the club via my legal advisors.
Is that after spending a great deal of my hard earned money on my new Lilo.
I have discovered it does not fit into the pool in the Riverside Stand.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

I've noticed a lot of posters who do these typically only posted on this thread and not season round about the team. Made me think it's probably someone having a bit of fun knowing it will get a lot of reactions.

We certainly need another keeper. Benda isn't up to the standard required, even as back up.

DM

I've said it before and will again. I get given info every now and then, sometimes it's right & sometimes it's not... It's not my info... As I've said I'm not itk.
The way I word it here is exactly how I receive it. The info on Nelson was given to me yesterday morning & at that time Nelson was due to be left behind. I don't know the reasons behind him now going... For me my opinion is it's leverage from AFC as they know Fulham want him & he wants Fulham... Sorry Marco wants him, as I've said previously the club isn't so keen.

I will though take on board Joe's comments regarding talking like it's definitive. Nothing is definitive until the club says it.

I still expect Nelson to happen again my opinion as I've heard nothing else about it.

FFC007

I still think that with Silva in his last year contract wise, they will not spend big, possibly nothing on permanent signings.

We still have bit part players like Reed on the books, with seemingly no interest made public.

Nelson loan and maybe one more loan coming in and that could it be it?
