Quote from: Craven Mad on July 21, 2025, 11:18:15 AMNot sure about Lecomte...

Personally, I'd have preferred us to find a backup who's much younger, is ready to start in early cup games, and might be able to challenge Leno in a season or two.

Maybe the Club has high expectations of one or more of the four keepers listed at U21 level, in which case it may not make sense - personnel-wise or financially - to block their pathway by signing another young keeper.

Fair point. I hope that's the case

Quote from: Angus Telford on July 21, 2025, 01:37:55 PMEven excluding frees and loans, Brighton, Bournemouth, Everton, Wolves, West Ham, Brentford, Palace and Forest have signed 22 players between them. On average 3 each. We're the only ones who haven't signed anyone.

It's probably worth working out how many players they've lost (or are likely to lose) that were/are key to their first teams too. Otherwise a pointless exercise.

Don't watch Italian footy but looks like he scored 12 for Fiorentina the season before last. Looks brilliant at attacking headers and an actual threat at corners so that in itself is a bonus. Takes a very nice pen as well from the clips. Can play anywhere across the front 3 but predominantly right. Could be a decent option?

From FFN:

"Hearing that Fulham are close to another signing as well... Not the GK. Apparently it's moving quite quickly. 🤞"

He said he's been told it may be Pau Victor but he's not sure at all. See what if anything comes of it.  ::smile::

I'm not excited by Nico Gonzalez - has pretty poor goal involvement stats and gets booked more.

HOWEVER....

This lad Pau Victor is pure class. Not sure how likely it is to get him out of Spain with teams like Valencia sniffing around but they do need the money to be able to register Rashford etc... so could be a cheap transfer or a decent loan offer there to be made.

A couple more off the top of my head. Kepa for Bournemouth (was on loan but started 31 matches) and Ashley Young at Everton (very old yes, but he still played almost 1900 minutes last season).

Yeah agreed, those teams above also released a few other older first team players (especially Everton, Palace and West Ham).

@jolslover

Nico Gonzalez and Pau Victor.. two ambitious links.

Nico an Argentinian international who (when fit) was a starter for Juventus last season coming off the back of a season of 12 goals (as a winger) with Fiorentina.

Pau Victor in matchday squad for every Barcelona game last season which is no easy feat and very highly rated at youth level. The perfect 3rd striker to push Muniz and Jimenez that could be worth a lot of money in the future..

@jolslover

A great Nico Gonzalez comp for anyone interested, great footwork and some good headers in there. Don't get 45 apps for Argentina without having something about you

West Ham have loads more that were involved in 1st team-Coufal, Antonio, Cresswell, Fabianski, Soler, Ings etc.
And Everton lost Alcaraz, Harrison, Lindstrom who were all heavily involved.

What I was trying to say initially is that some of these teams have made 3 or 4 signings and they're still behind where they were last season. We're not in that position.

Yeah looks a very exciting prospect but with all the talent at Barca and him now being 23 he needs a move to play more. Talk on the other chat that could only be 5m euros but they want a 50% sell on. Would make sense if they feel he's got the ability as if he's brilliant they make a big future profit with us. I'd prefer to risk 10m euros and have it at 20%. Either way an exciting one if true. 6ft and looks like he could hold the ball a bit but looks more technical with a bit of pace and brilliant finishes from the clip reels. Say he has a bit of David Villa about him.

No guarantee it's him as he's really not sure but he was told by one source last night. Believe he was also told we were after a Spanish youngster who could play anywhere across the front the other day so could be him. Prob means Romulo is off if it happens but as he said could even be using this to push Romulo through?! Who knows but exciting either way if it happened.

Kit is what I would suspect. Wasn't it around this time last year we released the kit?

They made the Alcaraz deal permanent this summer. And worth noting that a handful of big money signings made by peer clubs were players who had been on loan (with an obligation/option) with that club in 24-25 (Alcaraz, Todibo and Strand Larsen).

Labelled the new Suarez at Barça so he has some bite and Apparently has a Portuguese girlfriend so perhaps Marco can sell London life to them both

I read that Pau Victor was one of about 5 players the Barça manager wanted gone before they started pre-season so fingers crossed.

Maybe Romulo like Nelson are back ups to the two players you mention.

The lack of credible news outlets/sources reporting Fulham transfer rumors is really telling. We only get the bullpoo websites when it comes to rumors
