Quote from: hovewhite on August 12, 2025, 09:39:50 AMMuniz goes what worries me is we won't have a replacement lined up.
Muniz is still very inconsistent and has a lot of maturing on the pitch to do also seems an emotional character.
Not only that I have him on SkyBet as this seasons Golden Boot!
150/1 ... I couldn't say no ... I know... I'm a bookmakers dream ...  :slap:

Quote from: General on August 12, 2025, 07:35:11 AMRight, time for the club to go all in on Kevin, Nelson, Sterling and Zinchenko.

Bored of this and it's time the club got their act together.

Win the fans back TK, SK and Ali Mac.

Want them all in on perms or with option for perm.

January window they then need to get in a CM who can score goals.

And also sign Marco and Muniz to longer contracts, now.

We've got a good thing going at the club on the pitch and it's time to get behind it.

Personally, don't see why we would need 3 new wingers. I'm not sure we even need 2 to be honest. We already have Iwobi, Traore and Wilson, with Sess and ESR also able to play there if needed. We only lost one winger from last season, as Willian was basically the Nelson replacement.

🤣I dunno
Muniz to Atlanta is ripe for a moan over pure rumour

Get involved, kick off, burn the cottage!

P.s on a serious note
The amount of people going in on Muniz on x is exactly the stuff I find mad about humans. It could be real, sure, but Nothing but rumour at this stage and people are slagging him off royally, cussing him for not getting into the Boro side on loan and calling him x,y,z.

Imagine reading all that about you if ya him and hadn't even done any of this. Gotta be so thick skinned to be in the public eye

Providing we don't lose anyone, here's what I would do:

-Sell Reed(nothing against him, but if we were to get a new midfielder, his departure makes most sense. TC just signed a new deal, we ain't selling King either and Lukic and Berge are better than Reed).

-Spend big on 2 positions:left winger (preferably someone who can play in multiple positions) and a number 8.

-get a cheap option for the striker position to be the third striker option. Whether that's someone who's nearing the end of their career or someone who's extremely talented, but would be okay with being third choice is unimportant.

-get a versatile defender for cover. We only have 4 centrebacks at the moment. I'd get another one in, preferably someone who can play as a leftback or rightback.

If we sell someone, e.g. Muniz, Robinson, etc. than that position becomes our top priority and I'd spend big on a replacement.

Jules

NFR but Bournemouth have now sold Zabarnyi to PSG. This summer they have taken in £150m for 3 defenders (Huijsen and Kerkez the others). They have signed a couple of replacements but this will no doubt weaken them defensively this season with the quality they lose. Crucially though they have retained all their attacking players.

Agree with this apart from the need for a centre-half. We have four, all of whom are plenty good enough, plus two left backs and two right backs, plus Lukic or Berge could cover in a real emergency (two injured centre-halves, and one gets sent off). Would invest in cover for them, rather than at CH.

Agree
Realistically what level of CB are we going to get to agree to come in as 5th in the peckong order? At that point might as well play a youth prospect or if we can, recall Luc DF

Bronaldinho

May be a bit controversial opinion, but 35m + addons for Muniz feels like okay business. He's still not had a double figure return in the PL yet. Appreciate he is 24, so right age for development, plus his energy levels and some potential.

Only thing I fear, is we shift a younger player, and replace him with someone older for less. Plus his contract is up next year, although we have option for one year.

I guess the downside to the above.

8m + if Flamengo had 20% sell-on (may be less/may be more) that's another 7m they've earned from us.

So we'd only be taking 20m net - and when I think about it that way, it feels cheap for Muniz.

I wouldn't sell Muniz for under £40m + add-ons partly for this reason

He has 2 years on his contract and is not easy to replace at that price in a striker market that's always difficult And wed need 2 strikers at that point

Taremi/Mitro + Romulo and I might feel a little better about it but I don't love selling Muniz just as he potentially steps into his prime year's

And the more I think about Mitrovic, the less I like it to be honest. Think I'd rather Taremi. Mitrovic coming back, no doubt he'd think he was the no.1 starter again, taking all the pens.....it's a tough one but not sure I'd like that back in the dressing room. Plus he's not exactly been known for keeping his fitness since going over (supposedly Saudi's have been unimpressed with his ability to remain fit).

Quote from: hopper on August 12, 2025, 09:10:26 AMA lot of fans on here will be jumping for joy if it looks like Muniz is off.

Personally a bit gutted, think he hasn't been treated well on contract by club, that needed to be renewed last summer after he showed he was capable of being a PL striker. Not on ridiculous wages but an improvement.

Now he's had two good years and still hasn't had a new contract.

I don't believe Schira who is a poor journalist, but DiMarzio running that he wants out is a big concern.

Seems like this move could well happen. Wouldn't be a Fulham summer without losing our most valuable asset.

I agree. Its insane a good Premiership striker like Muniz is just on 7,500p per week, they should offer him improved contract last summer or during last season.

If SCR really is an issue then perhaps it's partly why we didn't.

I'd get someone in a similar mould to the players "big" clubs get as their 3rd choice goalkeepers. Someone who'd be there in case of some major injury crisis. Worth pointing out that Bassey will be out for AFCON too.

I think we have enough midfield cover:
6-Berge, Lukic, Reed
8-Lukic, TC, Reed
10-ESR, AP, King

If really needed, AP and maybe even King and Iwobi can play as an 8 too.

I think we have enough cover, I'd just get someone who can offer more than Reed can at the moment.

And even if they had what difference would it have actually made? You would imagine we are willing to match whatever Atlanta are offering him. If it's actually true and he does want to go to the bigger club and for champions league football he would have wanted to go anyway even if we had upped his contract last year and Atlanta came in this year so can't see how it makes any difference.

Also all very well in hindsight saying we should have put him on £100k a week last year but at that point he had a couple of electric months but had done very little around that. Would have been uproar from many saying why are we wasting our money when he isn't proven enough yet, especially with 3 years still remaining at the time.

Continuity, competition and long term planning.

Nelson, Kevin are both young. Having an option on Nelson means he'd be ready made to replace or grow into the wing roles held by increasingly older players like Adama, Iwobi and Wilson (talking 3-5yrs difference).

Means we have angles covered, plus can remain competitive throughout the entire season and in multiple competitions instead of potentially falling off towards the end of the season.

Currently sess has to be thought of as a LB until its sorted.

You're also seeing Kevin and Sterling as simply wingers.. when sterling played in the 10 role as well as an out and out striker for City. Kevin could arguably play anywhere across the front line. Boosting competition.

Zinchenko plays LB, can assist and score, and also plays CM, so adds versatility.

Agree on reed.

I want 1 CM improvement on him and AP too with one of those departing

But CB I still don't think it's worth a Shane Duffy style aquisition.
With scr reportedly tight it's a waste of wage space imo. Rather that went on beefing other offers in key attacking positions (especially if we do lose low paid starter Muniz).

Worst case we play youth, recall Luc DF, or play back 3.
