Angus Telford

Kevin - yes

Nelson - OK if it's a loan without obligation, and not an alternative to Kevin

Sterling - no thanks, no way, no more highly-paid geriatrics who can't get a game at one of the better London clubs

Kevin - Yes
Nelson- don't mind... he is so often not available
Sterling - Yes if Chelsea pay £250k pw of his wages - Marco will get the very best out of him... he is keen to try to get an England place next summer... could be a terrific loan

Quote from: FFC1987 on August 18, 2025, 04:48:48 PMin no way would I expect a striker, worth upwards of £80m, to be struggling behind Jimenez for a starting spot.

In a nutshell.
Look in isolation at goals/minute ratio and he's ostensibly worth £60m.
Look in isolation at the fact he can't hold down a place in a botyom half PL team and he's ostensibly worth <£10m.

Truth is somewhere in the middle with a very wide margin for debate, based on no one really knowing how this season will pan out for him.

More or less agree apart from the <£10m part. Evan Ferguson couldn't get a minute at West Ham and has a €40m purchase option. Hojlund who often wouldn't start at a bottom half team is also €40m upwards.

One thing is for sure, Muniz gets people (me) talking. Sorry for those bored of me discussing him nonstop...

We've been linked with Jonathan Rowe recently, and he's been removed from the Marseille first team due to a dressing room bust up with Adrian Rabiot, who has previous for being a bit of a bellend (and also removed from the first team squad). Think he was priced at €20m a few weeks ago, so hopefully that's dropped his price and we could look to get him in, as he can play on both wings and is pretty rapid too, and at 22 gives the sort of longevity we should be targeting.

I saw a bit of him for the under 21s and thought he had pace and that's it.

Looks like Roma are likely to turn to Rowe after their deal for Sancho has fallen through.

His stats, albeit in just under 900 mins are actually quite impressive: https://fbref.com/en/players/8c12f884/Jon-Rowe

Creates a decent amount of chances and shots in the time he plays, and quite good at beating his man too. Obviously he'll be fairly raw at 22 but with a decent coach there's some underlying strengths to be exploited

Agreed... we can't be in for damaged goods from other clubs...

Nelson needs to hit the ground running pronto if he comes in....

The way it's going I'll settle for beggars can't be chooser's?
The three all have genuine pace which apart from Traore we lack in final third!
Of the three not totally convinced about Nelson in all honesty not just injury record?
Still think Sterling can come good where expectations are considerably lower!

Which Rowe? ESR 😭 or Jonathan Rowe?

hovewhite

Think nelson if not gone will come in next week allowing khan a safety net.

General

Think it could be Kevin perm
Nelson loan with option
Sterling loan.. potentially with option/obligation?

We'd have some pace in our attack that'd be for sure.

If they sell Johnathan Rowe Marseille might come in for Pereira 🤞

It appears Lookman is now available, I'd have him over both Nelson and Sterling.

Surely no way we get all 3.

We don't need 3 wingers this summer.

There's reasonable debate to be had about even needing 2

If we have:
Iwobi/Kevin/Adama/Wilson/Sess + ESR also good there + Godo

I'd like nelson or sterling too personally but 3 would be excessive unless we sold one of our main current wingers, which I wouldnt as they all have unique strengths
