Summer Silly Season Transfer Thread 2025

The figures mentioned in all these transfer rumours are made up. No business, let alone football clubs would ever and have never released details of amounts or wages. These are all made up or at best speculation.

Muniz was never going to leave unless a ridiculous amount was offered. This seems obvious to most people who realise the club would have to spend money for a replacement on top of the three or four other players they are negotiating for.

The sums and most of the names linked are fictions. Most of us were aware of this and just enjoy playing the game. As already mentioned. The days of journalists who have some sort of inside knowledge are few and far between.

So let's enjoy the last 12 odd days left in the madness. Enjoy the debate and the back and forth. But the fees and the wages and the amounts are nonsense. Plus most of the names.

Unless it's me who name names. As I am in the know. Nurse says I am a  good boy but my time on the computer has come to an e...............
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Coastwalker

Forest at it again, apparently making progress in talks with Douglas Luiz.

Mozzartsport is one of the most reliable sports media in Serbia (arguably even the most reliable). I think there's some truth in those rumours.

Just to give you a rough idea of what kind of offers Serbian teams accept, Lukic was sold for something like 1.5 million euros. Mitro, who won u19 Euro with Serbia and was given the player of the tournament award and also had senior caps already went for around 5 million euros. My point is, our clubs tend to sell whenever a semi-decent bid comes in. If we are truly interested in Jovanovic surely we can do better than 250k?
Ridiculous by us, you can't buy an Arsenal or Chelsea women's player for that 🤔

He's a 19 year old youth prospect from a Serbian team being signed presumably for youth development (if true)

For context , they sold another 19 year old striker, vlahovic, to Atlanta 23/24 season for 270k 🤷

They had some money issues at the time, situation is slightly better now. Everyone thought that was way too low at time too + Jovanovic is more talented as well.

In the last few seasons we've regularly produced good strikers and goalkeepers, so I actually think signing someone like him has very little risk, ar worst we'll sell him for a profit.

Whatever people thought about it...the reality is it's not far off a figure they accepted for a player a similar age, position and scoring record in recent years.

When I'm buying a house I make a first offer trying my luck based on what others in the area have gone for, whatever the reason.

No difference here, we've tried our luck. Now if we want to well presumably go back in with another bid. Somewhere between valuations as usual. Over paying (for a Serbian teams 3rd choice striker) is over paying wether 50m range or 500k range, astute business isn't to just hand over more money than you need to straight away just because you can imo. Not like we need the kid in our line up this Sunday and so desperately need this deal done yesterday.

Low balling first offer some times makes the opposing party lower their expectation of the negotiations price ceiling. If we're interested beyond a bargain basement deal well up it. If not we'll move on, hopefully if he's a good pick up we can grab him at a low risk cut price well see.

Agree. How many players have we lost through this penny-pinching routine? Is it AM or TK? We've put our relationship with Muniz in jeopardy by not increasing his money, if only by 2,500 o 5,000 a year. Short termism at it's best.

Yeah he looked really unhappy holding the scarf over his head after scoring the winner on Saturday. What's with the constant negativity man?

It's a question, it isn't negative
Sorry Kent, if it was a question then surely it would end with a question mark rather than an explanation mark?

I do understand the negativity in a way but seems to be a constant theme!
Maybe it's Kent that does it - it's where my wife was born !!
I was born in Kent (Chatham) and the last time i was positive when Dr. Wall told my mum and dad she was pregnant!

So current state of play seems to be:

Kevin - gone quiet, some reports that we have agreed a fee, some that there is a gap between the clubs still
Nelson - also quiet, likely affected by negotiations for Kevin and possibly Sterling. Clubs still apart on whether there should be an option to buy or obligation
Taremi - wage demands too high, not happening now
Jovanovic - low bid rejected, unclear whether a higher bid will be made
Sterling - may still happen, will likely depend on other deals and not resolved until deadline day
Pereira - interest from Palmeiras, didn't feature on weekend so it seems we are looking to sell
Muniz - appears to be staying, rumoured we are offering a better contract

He's the co-owner of the football club, the statistician behind transfers, and director of Football.. everything implies he has positioned himself to be integral to the football people group operating.

HV71

If you are not a "footballing person " do not call yourself a "Director of Football".

I don't mind our low balling as much as some do here, but I think there's a difference between low balling and being straight up disrespectful. This is the equivalent of offering, for example, 10-15 million for Kevin. What's the point of putting in a bid that's so far of the selling clubs evaluation.

Hope you don't mind me being pedantic on this, but they're not at it 'again', they've been doing the same thing consistently over a number of years/transfer windows now. they're just doing it. We're not.

That may well be the case but in this modern day of telephones etc TK doesn't have to be in the country to be aware of what is going on with recruitment. I'm sure MS is involved as much as he needs to be as and when required and the recruitment team are doing all they can to make things happen given whatever financial restraints we are having to work to.

In four days time the world and every Fulham supporter gets to read Shad Khan's programme notes,
I've got a feeling they are going to be very interesting,
As a side this Sunday heralds a new dawn with the Riverside Stand being fully open for the first time, first up Manchester United the biggest club in the world and we can't sell out ! This will be the only time this season that Manchester United play at a ground that isn't sold out, I hate to think of sales in that Riverside Stand when we play Burnley.

There's literally 20 seats left out of 29,000. They're not cheap but I'd imagine that they'll probably get sold.
