Why did you bring up Ali Mac as the person opposite Silva then, seeing as he isn't a DoF?

Because it seems to me, rightly or wrongly, TK oversees the scouting and recruitment side of transfers whereas Ali Mac oversees our revenue, whether we are conforming to PSR and, thus, how much we can afford to outlay on fees and salaries. When considering, therefore, how financially beneficial selling Andreas might have been at the time, I imagine the input would have been from Ali Mac more so than TK. 

Which is why I brought up that it is what is DoF is supposed to do. We don't really have one that does that job though, which is where the issue lies.

Well, confirmation that we are looking at a CM at least. Otherwise pretty much what was expected.

This makes me really think he is off at the end of the season and the cash is being saved for a new boss with a big oil fund to spend next summer...

These comments are really worrying for the future of this club. By not investing in new players, we will be playing like we did last season and everyone has already sussed that out. This will lead to us losing more points and potentially being in a relegation dogfight.

This has me seriously unmotivated to go to or watch matches this season.

Basically what we all knew. Our recruitment strategy and infrastructure isn't fit for purpose. We've had nearly 6 months to plan for this window and now we're scrambling around - again. Utterly pathetic.

Also confirmation why this idea that waiting til the end of the window for all of our deals is some clever tactic. I think everyone accepts in some cases we have to do it, but other clubs seem willing to pay an asking price to get a no.1 target in early doors and with a bit of pre-season.

It's dysfunctional and not sustainable, as it's alienated every manager we've had.

This is a damning assessment ( not from a clueless , outsider and fan like me ) but from someone in the club, in the know , who is clearly stating that the targets have been missed and that he is in the dark as to what will happen

This is our manager , for gods sake - a football man whose job is on the line if he gets it wrong. Totally different situation from our DOF whose job will never be on the line and who is interested in money and men in tights
