Finnans Right Peg

Think we should try sign Kobbie mainoo from utd

Tabby

No Pereira in the squad today, sign that he is off?

Diop also left out, but that may just have been that he was edged out by Cuenca.

You'd think they would be putting on their golden boy at some point but he hasn't featured yet. Might actually be possible, but I doubt it. Mainoo probably wants to have a shot at playing in the world cup so he will be wanting to play.

Really weird how he can't get minutes. I totally forgot about him. Not sure we could get him, but would absolutely go for him or Elliott if there's even a chance.

Yeah AP is surely gone. We've moved on.

There's no chance we can afford Kobbie Mainoo, he's worth around €50m according to transfermarkt.

Transfermarkt valuations mean nothing at all. But yeah we're not getting Mainoo.

His situation is very weird, he was one of English football's hottest properties not long ago. Now he's a bit forgotten.

His contract is up next summer and he demands something like 150-200 k a week minimum. Dont see how we can lure him here tbh

Players off bench changed game v Brighton.

Players off bench changed game v Utd.

Squad depth looks ok for mid-table finish which ✅ box as a minimum but probably doesn't keep Marco beyond this season.

Defeat midweek in LC will not be ideal for morale but would ease need for further players.

Finnans Right Peg

Maybe a loan deal near the end of the window ,we could do worse ,there is a word cup next year players will want to be playing

Reported wage issues for Chukuweze.

It's now obvious that the names we are being linked with Sterling, Chukwueze, Nelson, Dewsbury-Hall(now gone) all at big clubs, we are hoping to get on loan, where a partial cost of the wage is covered, view the bring in permanent next summer when some high earners like Adama, Cairney, Pereira, Jiminez etc are gone

That's why the only reported bids have gone in Kevin, Romulo, Pepe who will cost a fee but wages will be a lot lower.

Are we really this broke? €4m per year is €77k/week which is £66.5k/week. That doesn't sound like a lot when we're paying Raul over £100k/week. If that's too much then surely we're not going to be able to afford Sterling or any other biggish name signing this season.
Im wondering if we are actively not signing players early just so we can avoid paying for that extra month. Ridiculous, I know but makes you wonder

How the hell is he on 150-200k? He's only 20 and wasn't a starter.

After the United match, I don't know how much we need Chukuweze. If Marco wasnts Nelson get him in because he already knows the squad.

We've got a really solid back 7. Sort out our front line and we could be firing!

Kevin in, Nelson maybe or sterling and a CM and striker.

Pereira out makes sense to me at this point. If we get £10m for him, however many seasons after he joined for £10m that'd be decent business.

We need someone who can score and offer more in that position.

Nelson over Sterling for me.

Don't know if it means anything, but co-founder of Clearlake Capital, who own Chelsea, was at the Utd game today with Shahid Khan. Perhaps negotiating deal re Sterling and/or others?

Also, apparently Palhinha was also at the game. If only.

Then we had better win this LC match in midweek 🏆

No, he DEMANDS. He is still on his first contract which he signed at 17 so his wage is something like 20k a week. A bit like Muniz.

But he was starting matches before Amorim came in

However I was wrong. His contract expired in 2027. Not 2026.

But yeah, they offered him a new contract in March and turned them down.
Fulham is simply not an option
