I won't elaborate too much on the statement, "Kevin has continued to play for his club despite negotiations." This article, dated August 19, 2025, features a well-known journalist from Ukraine discussing rumors that Kevin "breached discipline in pursuit of a transfer to another team."

Another one : "Kevin is putting pressure on Shakhtar, demanding to sell him to Fulham."

Interesting. I only looked at the recent games and he has been playing.

To be honest, I don't hold any blame against Kevin for wanting to relocate from Ukraine to England. However, let's be straightforward about it.

The club has to be very happy getting €7M for Godo.
He is a good player who needs game time.
No question he needs to play. It's a real shame he didn't get a loan last season. However from what I've seen of him he's a LONG way from being a PL player so I'd imagine the club is quite pleased with getting that for him.

No doubt. Selling Godo nearly pays for Kevin this season. That fee is much more than I would have expected. Hopefully he will get to the level of a top flight player, but he isn't close at this time like you say.

So what Romano is saying we haven't negotiated wages with Kevin and Chukwueze has flown to London on the off chance that we bid for him
What could go wrong 😩😂.

But isn't the reason he'd not been playing due to his meniscus injury, not (just) because he wanted a move?

Although, let's be honest, he'd not be the first player to down tools to force a move it that is indeed what happened.

Jeroen

Surely that must be 25% of anything above what we paid for him!

Rambler

I'd be happy with Kevin and chuk and a CM.

Think we'll be a good squad with that. Ideally another striker but we absolutely must find a better CM.

RS61

Couldn't care less about sell-on. If we're at the point where our record signing is good enough to get someone to buy him, that means he's been brilliant for us.

Looks like it's gonna go right down to the wire tomorrow.

We're still missing an AP replacement and a forward.

Unless someone from the Academy steps in...

Sky reporting Forest's Taiwo Anwoniyi not in today's squad due to discussions  with two EPL clubs.
If fit he is a proven goal scorer.

Selling Godo for this price is a good deal considering he hasn't really done anything for our first team.

Not given a chance and probably never would have but good luck to him.

I can't help thinking that some dodgy dealing is going on here, Strasbourg owned by chelsea's owners pay more for Godo in return for us bringing in a higher salaried chelsea player on loan.

Would surprise me if it was us. If so, would mean 4 potential Nigeria AFCON players.

One had his medical today and one is having it tomorrow - there's very little chance we'd do the medical if we didn't have an agreement or a very strong basis for one already in place

Deeping_white

Decent chance we sign Chuku, Kevin and Sterling tomorrow, and potentially a mystery CM; Arsenal will want shot of Zinchenko so that one is still viable, Bakwa also still free and Strasbourg signing Godo potentially frees him up. Sterling might be a utility forward who can play as a false 9 if needed and that's all our forward positions sorted. I kinda hope we sell Adama and sign Bakwa too but that's very greedy and would be mental if we signed so many wingers in one day
