In fairness I was thinking at Stamford Bridge that George was the player I least liked seeing coming at us. I like the signing, he's dangerous.

But disappointing if it's an alternative to Kevin and how/why has that gone sour - have to assume we've been gazumped by Sporting. Which is purely us stringing it out too long. F****** idiots.

Sporting have gazumped it. 😡
They're not saying that, they're saying that Sporting are showing interest.

They never actually said those words, they said what was on X earlier that they are gearing he was in London to finish his medical, but we haven't agreed personal terms as yet and Sporting are trying to g to hijack the deal.

Fulham have agreed a club-record £34.6m (€40m) deal to sign Kevin from Shakhtar Donetsk.
BUT, Sporting CP are showing late interest and competing with Fulham for his signature.
The player is already in London to undergo a medical.

Not sure where it says dead there??

Why are you lying? they didn't say that.

Can you stop putting messages in here that read as absolutes, I.E. "Kevin deal is dead... Sky sports reporting." if it isn't actually the case, and then putting another message that contradicts it about 2 mins later

Was near the front at the game on Saturday and he offered pretty much nothing.
Two things here! He played out of position when he came on and if you know you are about to leave mentally your unlikely to be fully focused.

done deal

I think this is rubbish. He's in Rome?
Yeah not sure he is that good personally, but just my view

I agree I don't think he's all that. Very lightweight and after all this talk of wingers landing on him would be very disappointing

@jolslover

22m for George seems underwhelming after being linked with Kevin and Chuk imo. Would have rather had those two - he looks like he's got potential but very raw at this stage and only 1 premier league start.

Would be interesting to see if we got George, Kevin and Chuk - think that would be overkill completely especially as Silva always says he likes a small squad

George cost 15m factoring in the Godo deal.

Given Chelsea's new strategy of buying young talents on long deals, it speaks volumes they deem him surplus to requirements.

Yes, he may come good, but £22m at this stage of his career is not value. Hope I'm wrong, but yeah this is desperation.

Then again, am I surprised? Nope - we always leave it late, and then go round to the other London clubs to see what they have left in stock as it's easy to sign them when they live local.

I don't know, George as a striker option, with Kevin and Chuk replacing Godo and Nelson/Willian.....

Jack kelly just said he knew Kevin was at MP yesterday, and 'maybe' this morning.

If it was George, Chuka and Kevin, i'd actually really be happy with this.

Porthogs FC

Why would we be mad about Tyrique George coming here? If it's a choice between Tyrique or Godo, I know who I'm picking 99 times out of 100.

Also, of course there's competition to sign Kevin. The worst kept secret for a while, and Shaktar wanted to keep for as many matches as possible, so there's no way we could have gotten this done unless, likely, we would have paid 50 off the hop, which would have been foolish and bad business.

It's all late, but prices have been ridiculous this summer. Keep the squad together (done), sell "driftwood" (done), new signings that are able to step into starting 11 *not done but hopeful*

He's barely played senior games as striker so would be surprised if he was bought in to be 3rd choice striker.. but would make sense if we get him chuk and kevin

George can play anywhere across the front line, may being used as back up, rather him than Stirling TBH.

I'm OK with George IF he's the Godo replacement. If he's the Chukwueze or Kevin alternative, absolutely not.

bencher

Let's not forget George scored against us from 20 yards last season. He's definitely not useless. We could use a player or two that actually shoot from that range.
