We must be confident on incomings if we're sanctioning Godo and Wilson sales

Quote from: South Coast White on September 01, 2025, 04:39:35 PMIf we loose this Kevin deal we seriously need to fire somebody, hopefully our CEO.
It could however be down to the mercenaries that are the player and agent playing us for a better deal at the last minute, if the latter is the case, then F#@k them both.

Sounds like it. If Sporting do hijack the deal and it's off, then someone needs to get the boot.

Quote from: Lighthouse on September 01, 2025, 04:41:54 PMPeople forget that Kevin was injured. But make up your own stories and believe the Chelsea reporter who is reporting things that were reported this morning. Whatever happens it will always be Fulham's fault.

For me it's the conviction with which people speak and lash out without having the foggiest idea what's actually going on or why these deals are going as they are that I find weirdest.

Ah well. Not long now

Quote from: FFC007 on September 01, 2025, 04:20:37 PMIf that Kevin deal has been hijacked at the last minute then I hope whoever was dilly dallying over the fee is proud of collapsing a record deal.

Disgraceful.

How do you know For sure the dilly dallying was all on us?? Sporting also went in with a bid early in the summer apparently. Were they also dilly dallying but their dilly dally worked out better than ours? Was Kevin always favouring a move to sporting and so dragged it out?

Did his reps know sporting were considering a bid and so trying to f around with the wage fees and drag it out?

You don't know and I don't know.

So let's just see how it plays out ay .

All this "disgraceful" stuff is so overboard when you have no idea what's going on in these rooms other than 90% speculation.

Devil's advocate but he never said it was disgraceful from Fulham!

🤣🤣 I don't think he's saying he hopes Kevin's camp are happy with themselves for crushing our dreams of a record move 😅 especially given previous post history

My point is that we should have had this put to bed ages ago and signed him.

As it's been suggested, leaving things until the last minute has potentially killed the deal.
Remember Andre last season missed out on him but it wasn't earth shattering.

The players won't sign. Agents hold out to the last minute. We are not Real Madrid.

So let me get this right.
We have paid Chelsea £22 million 'plus add ins' for an inexperienced (<10 EPL games) player, whilst Chelsea need to ship out players.
Yet we appear to be prepared to ship out two experienced internationals (Traore and Wilson) on the last 12 hours of a transfer window.
I don't blame the Khan's for this, they are based in the USA and are an invaluable and generous benefactor for the club.
But the Board and scouting 'professionals?'
Incompetent or what.
Probably risking the manager mid-season as well if Nuno or Potter are let go!

howitis

has reiss Nelson signed for Brentford yet ? Could still see him coming to us if not ...

Both are in the last year of their contracts, and might not sign extensions. Letting them both leave for £0 is stupid, and George is the type of player we should be targetting because he has the potential to make us a good profit in a year or two and is young enough that he could spend 5 years here and still not have hit his peak years...

The Khans hire the board and scouts, they pay them. So it is their responsibility as they have to hold their staff accountable. They're also not "benefactors", they're investors looking for a return - they're not putting money into Fulham for charitable reasons.

Silva will be gone at some point, either in the season or when his contract is up.

The buffoons running the clubs transfer policy need to give their heads a wobble.

The icing on the cake is the potential hijacking of Kevin.

itombomb

It seems to me the most likely scenario is that Kevin and Chukwueze are done. We always needed 2 attackers minimum.

Then we found out George may be available and so we're snapping him up and shopping Wilson and Traore around to see which of the two would command the most value/interest. I very much doubt we let both go as we'd be really thin then.

Agree with this except your point about profit on George, as we're agreeing to a hefty sell on fee to Chelsea. If somehow he turns out to be really good and we sell for £70-80m in two years, we end up with £36m after the sell on, which yes is a great bit of a profit but it's a huge if we ever sell him for that much.

With Wissa likely to move they require a winger, Nelson suits the bill nicely.
On a loan with an option, not obligation, to buy.
Brentford acting like a professional outfit!

It's more than that, a team does as well as it's leadership, of which the Khan's and in particular TK are involved in.

Nelson is so injury prone it's no big deal if we didn't go in for him

But even if we make £10m+ profit in a year or two then we're looking at north of £30m revenue on a sale which is the sort of thing we need to do at least once every season if we want to remain competitive. I'd rather we didn't have a sell on fee for Chelsea of all clubs, but if it means the upfront cost is cheaper and reduces the risk for us, it's something I'd be willing to accept.

Assume this is a wind up?

I'm seriously. He was just driving in. I don't know why, obviously but he was heading in. Some other geezer in the front seat with him. Don't know who.

Jules

I really hope Wilson doesn't go. He's one of our best scoring options on wing or in the 10 where he plays for Wales. Who is going to score against the Bees if he goes?!
