Leno/Lacomte
Tete/Castagne
Anderson/Diop
Bassey/Cuenca
Robinson/Sess
Berge/Reed
Lukic/TC
King/ESR
Kevin/Iwobi
Chuk/wilson/Adama
Muniz/Raul

We have a great squad with players who can  play in multiple positions, but definately would have liked another option for striker and CM in an ideal world. maybe ridgeon and loupolo get their chances to shine.

Ah well on we move.
Hopefully the 2 main targets from today get us out our seats after the internal break.

So in the end

AP becomes King.
Nelson/Willian becomes Chuk
Vini becomes Kevin
Benda becomes Lecomte
Godo becomes ...

Can't help but feel the club came up short and Marco is not going to be pleased a loan wasn't sorted as he is now a player short from last season. Makes me think Sterling may become an option if Chelsea buy him out, correct? When would he have to be registered by?

Quote from: C Block on September 01, 2025, 09:53:49 PMJust to keep things in perspective for those on here having a tantrum, there were 38 deal sheets placed at 7pm for Premier League players, so it wasn't just us,
And our two deals collapsed because Leeds United moved far too late in the window to get the Harry Wilson deal done, so again not just us making late moves,
Having said that it's not a great window is it, but thanks to King,Tettey,Kevin and Chukwueze signing deals it's not bad either.

But ALL of those other clubs had already signed more than just a backup keeper... That's a rather significant difference IMO.

Quote from: ffc73 on September 01, 2025, 09:34:22 PMMaybe Silva pulled plug on the 2x youngsters and wanted to keep Wilson.

That would fit the usual pattern & maybe the division between manager & board.
This is what I reckon probably happened, at least with the George deal - Marco preferring to keep the player he knows and (understandably_ not worrying about the long term financial impact of not selling a wasting asset. We definitely could have afforded to bring George in and keep Wilson, but then we have too many wingers and it isn't worth it for the club.

The striker falling through I expect is just ineptitude.

RAY Rock

Disgraceful window no CM we are a couple of injuries away from disaster. Couldn't get two deals over the line and will have a very unhappy Wilson knowing we were prepared to let him go if George had joined total incompetence

there's nothing on their site saying that.

I think that twitter post about his contract being terminated was a wind up.

Strange nobody has come in for him as a loan.

Surlyc

The club could really help themselves by rolling out new contracts for Muniz/Sessegnon/Wilson over the next 2 weeks.

It's really quite alarming that we have a 23-man squad with 7 out of contract in 12 months.

Asotosyios

From BBC:

Fulham had also agreed a £22m move for Chelsea forward Tyrique George earlier on deadline day but it collapsed in the late hours.

It's unclear exactly why it collapsed but Fulham already completed the signings of two long-term targets for the wide positions.

Yet, the primary reason George's move fell through was he was a contingency option in case Leeds made an offer Fulham couldn't refuse for Harry Wilson.

But ultimately no offer arrived and they preferred to keep the Wales international.

Now THATS a bit of an overreaction! The two that are off were last minute add ons...and were in a way a bit puzzling. An unproven wiz kid who was going to be here a year and Bayern would be demanding he gets minutes and someone from the scum who no one really talked about....now you're devastated?
C'mon man...

No it's:

AP -> King
Wilson/Adama -> Chuk
There was no competition for Iwobi, but now there is with Kevin
Benda -> Lecomte
Godo wasn't in the squad anyway so we dind't really lose out

I think for a player, it's actually a positive sign if the club are open to allowing you to discuss terms with clubs, it shows we allow them the choice.

DD is always like that. Difference is that all other clubs have made moves all summer, except for us. So their entire recruitment strategy didnt hinge on a 24 hour window. And also, relying on Leeds in the final hours of the window is a poor way of going about business.

All of this could have been avoided if we had a plan in place and actually wanted to do some deals and not just trolley dash the final day.

This window is all on us. Not Leeds, not Bayern not anybody else but us.

Godo becomes the next youth prospect - Ali Wahid, who looks very good from what I've seen.
Also Olyott who we got from man city and and Zepa from arsenal

All good prospects

Being glass half full all of those players are upgrades. I think our starting XI is now better but our depth is worse.

If you're Harrison Reed and TC you probably think this is the best window for the club  :slap:

Lighthouse

Two quality players coming in. Lacking in depth just in numbers. But an improved first team squad. Lost nobody. Not sure why some people are acting out but then let's face it. They always do. Will Silva be angry and throw another tantrum? Well he will be gone by the end of the season anyway if he doesn't sign a contract. So don't really care.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

McBrideOfFrankenstein

I like our signings! Could have used a CM but can't have it all. I think an already very good squad got better.

hopper

Yeah I'm a bit stumped about not getting for a midfielder when we really needed depth there. We really need Berge and Lukic to stay fit again, wanted someone else who was on their level or better to come in to give us depth.

TC and Reed as the backups feels like an oversight. We put in a bid for Hwang yesterday, got rebuffed and seems no other rumours beyond that.

Horrendous of true that

If Marco stays, we will still be a good side this season and finish in the top half - at least this season. Its the future in more worried about. Its just a shame we are throwing away our chances of actual sound squad building

This is definitely cause for concern, especially Muniz.
