I think the fact Josh King has proven to be premier league quality early in his career it's like signing a £30/40m attacking midfielder. If Seth Ridgeon goes the same way, big if, then next season could be interesting. Gotta survive this one first however!!!!

Seth Ridgeon stand up. The pathway has been left open. Should we see injuries and suspensions at CM we may see him a season sooner than anticipated 😅

Does it not get boring acting like this.

You're not even truthful about being happy to finish 17th, you'd love the club to go down so you could keep up this constant misery act.

Forest's spending and apparent ambition compared to ourselves is sickening

Really hope he does. I've not seen him play as I rarely get time to see our academy but reading posts from other posters he sounds incredibly exciting.

We already have two old Academy players in the first team who are thriving - a third would be great

I keep thinking it's gonna come back to bite them but they just seem to continually go from strength to strength. No idea how they're doing it without getting the rule book thrown at them.

And just to cap it all, neither of FFC's signings tonight have made it to the BBC's "live" transfer window page. However, Wycombe's latest acquisition has. ...

Exactely, plus keeping Tete, Muniz, Robinson, all could have gone.  King brilliant, Kevin very exciting, chuck top player.

You never get everything, Iwobi can play 8.  Another striker may have never played.

Yep, the silver lining is that this does open up paths for our youngsters. Would still feel better if we at least resigned our own (e.g. Sessegnon & Muniz) in the immediate future.

Quote from: KentFulham on September 01, 2025, 09:55:20 PMVini barely came on even with Raul looking tired, I guess Silva didnt see much in Vini. I would like to see Wilson play more up top, as he does for Wales often, tend to find MS does not play to Wilsons strengths, he could easily play off Muniz/Raul. As for Adama, guy couldnt hit the Hammy end if he tried
I agree that we don't necessarily play to his strengths (and using him as a touchline hugging winger is generally a fairly massive waste of them), but a huge part of that at the Premier League level he has a lot of weaknesses that balance off badly against his strengths.

At international qualifying level he can excel in the 10 role in those massive spaces in between the midfield and defence, but at PL level where there is so much less space he's too weak and not composed enough. He loses possession enough when playing on the wing against a lone opposition FB. Similarly while he can make really intelligent runs in behind, in the PL he doesn't have the pace/strength to get away from much quicker defenders if the ball falls to him.

I don't know if George was the right signing, but Chelsea fans wanted to keep him, and if its true we were offered around £10m for Wilson when I don't believe for a second we're going to extend his contract, I definitely would have done those deals.

Let's not forget we still have Luke Harris on the books, so 3 good youngsters with exceptional potential.

He's got the josh king air of quality around him. Pace and able to break lines and carry whilst also being a good shooter too. Can play CAM too. Still young and needs time to develop but very promising from the performances I've seen

Just the four players in from Botafogo then. Nothing to be seen here.

Kevin has just made it onto the BBC website

Quote from: Lighthouse on September 01, 2025, 10:08:16 PMTwo quality players coming in. Lacking in depth just in numbers. But an improved first team squad. Lost nobody. Not sure why some people are acting out but then let's face it. They always do. Will Silva be angry and throw another tantrum? Well he will be gone by the end of the season anyway if he doesn't sign a contract. So don't really care.

Lost nobody? Where'd that come from? We sold Pereira and didn't replace him. We also lost Vinicius, Willian and Nelson.. and Godo.. and replaced them with Kevin and Chuk.

That means we had 5 outgoings and replaced them with 2.

Is it really worth leaving everything so late ?
Fans get hacked off
manager ( supposedly a member of the inner sanctum gets very pissed off)
New arrivals miss approx 10 %of the season

Other than Jay who thinks everything is fine in our universe ?

In my book it's no way to run a professional enterprise that should be as much results focused  as just a financial business.

Sad

Don't be such a drama queen it's not that bad!

Bit light in CM? Yes, but hopefully Ridgeon ready to step up, get some minutes to develop and see a future here.

Bit light up top? Yes, but we have just signed a couple of quality wide forwards capable of scoring goals.

We should be doing more business earlier in the window but we have real quality in all positions now. Avoiding injury in CF and CM we should well clear of trouble and looking higher.

Never really got the Harris hype once I saw more of him play.

Outside of goalscoring ( a good skill when it's going your way) he didn't seem to offer much. His loans haven't gone well. Doesn't have same all round quality of king and Ridgeon for me
