Quote from: Lighthouse on September 01, 2025, 10:08:16 PMTwo quality players coming in. Lacking in depth just in numbers. But an improved first team squad. Lost nobody. Not sure why some people are acting out but then let's face it. They always do. Will Silva be angry and throw another tantrum? Well he will be gone by the end of the season anyway if he doesn't sign a contract. So don't really care.

Lost nobody? Where'd that come from? We sold Pereira and didn't replace him. We also lost Vinicius, Willian and Nelson.. and Godo.. and replaced them with Kevin and Chuk.

That means we had 5 outgoings and replaced them with 2.

Oh dear. Vini, Willian,Nelson and Godo were squad fillers. So as I stated before short on numbers. But we have two first team players and sold NO first team players. So old Willian, Never played Nelson as he was always injured, Vini rarely in squad and Godo who may well have improved given time. We have King now who has stepped up. So sadly I repeat. Improved team. Playing numbers games and ignoring King means we really have three first 11 players that we didn't have and lost 5 fillers. Iwobi prefers 8 or 10 as opposed to being on the wing.

Gotta say

Disappointments aside

Kevin, King, ESR and chuk behind muniz?

I am f***ing excited to see that TBF. Potentially most direct attacking lineup we've seen in years

Question is how to fit them all in tbh. Having our two new wingers means ESR can't as easily be accommodated on the left with King through the middle.

Unless the club put King deeper? But he feels too small for that box to box role

I think king could absolutely play 8. I've been really surprised by how strong he is on the ball considering how slight he looks. He's deceivingly well balanced and hard to knock off the ball for such a slight kid.

I'd love it if he proves me wrong and I agree he's been impressively combative but I still as of now have my doubts about him in that spot. Looks great at CAM though.

Sigh... I'm ready to get hurt again, how late can we push it?

demeant0r

Isn't it too late to get the deal sheet anyway?

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Haha it's never ending

Gotta love it ...with option?? Wtf guess no sleep just yet

Loan with option actually makes sense tbh because why would we sign him to be 3rd choice and Bayern agree to it knowing there's no real upside for either club with him not playing. Lets hope the PL still feel bad from the Chelsea game and how we got screwed over and it goes through

Yeah mentally preparing myself for let down. Must be arguing it was submitted in time. 🙏

Yeh think he's a great CAM , so much it's almost a shame to see him further back. Unless ESR reminds his top level form .my god imagine it all clicks with those younger players up top from the 8 position forwards😍 dreamland

Add this Bayern kid into the mix too if we somehow pull off a miracle

This is probably us arguing we did it in time so an appeal on the technicality of it going through in the agreed timescales

Lighthouse

Everybody was quoting the time that deal sheets had to be in. Then the BBC quoted the Prem as saying

ONE AM is when the paper work should be completed by.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Nah they'll be pissed off with us for not giving their love club Chelsea £22m for George so we've got not chance.  ::cry::

"Told the recruitment team fought for the option till the last minute. Bayern reluctant but have agreed to an option.
Only way it got done was with an option.

Waiting on PL approval now 🙏"

Quote from: WolverineFFC on September 01, 2025, 10:42:58 PMGoing to disagree with you there Jay. Whoever steps up from the youth squad next takes King's old role.

Godo was occupying another senior spot in my opinion. Somebody may step fwd from the youth set up, but I believe Marco would have preferred someone more ready for regular senior football in that spot.
Godo was our 5th choice academy winger who was supposed to go on loan
...he was behind
Iwobi/Wilson/Adama/Sess and even ESR being preferred out there to him. Now woulda been 7th behind chuk and Kevin who are ready made attackers ready to go

The 3 players I mentioned are the next academy prospects in the pipeline on the wings, they don't need to be ready we got plenty wingers . Ridgeon is the next josh king comparison given hes 17, England youth level and plays CM/CAM

Yup. Supposed to go on loan but Stansfield was sold and Ernest N hid in the closet or whatever. We now shuffled the chairs and the missing piece is the 3rd striker, so maybe I should have framed the question as

Godo becomes Kevin
Vini becomes...

I was framing it more as squad places versus positions I guess, but the transfer business seems to prove my point as we now have 5 senior wingers but only 2 senior strikers. I feel Marco would really like 5 and 3 so he can have the "solutions" he often disusses.

VAR will overturn the transfer.

Lol. I feel like we are owed one following the Solomon debacle.

A burner account that looks like it's connected to someone at the club (weirdly accurate about all of today's ongoings out of nowhere) has just cryptically tweeted about the JKA dealsheet

SimonDaviesEnjoyer

I don't understand the negativity. Can't wait to see Kevin and Chuck in action. We should have seven points but for bad refereeing, and our squad just acquired two exciting wingers. We'll be fine.

Without the option this didnt make sense. Give an 18 year old a place on the first team...make him a star and hand over the finished product back to Bayern at the end of the season? FFC is not a Bayern starlet academy. At least now we can buy the results of our investment, otherwise the original deal had me scratching my head

Well, the argument would obviously be - if he does brilliantly, then maybe it helps us make Europe or at least top10 and

1. He stays cos he loves it here
2. We get more prize money as a result of his form here and spend it on better players next summer with raul moving on

That said. Obviously ideal situation is having an option though

This Francis thing is fascinating. Like with the Jay Williams last year. Really does feel like someone inside the club with a burner.

Yeah it's really odd that we seem to get one per window isnt it - it's nice for moments like this where it looks like we do have some hope, but I don't know why someone at the club feels the need to do it, rather than fronting up to it for better or worse
