Notwithstanding you couldn't possibly know ALL the rumours I've heard, an official at PSV admitted on national Dutch TV that Fulham bid €25m for Pepi.

A shame the player broke his arm in the first round of matches after their winter break

And an even bigger shame that PSV wanted around 40 million euros for him as well....the absolute state of this market!

Yeah, there's a lot to like about Marco but if he can't commit, I don't know why he would expect the Khan's to. The negative consequences for the club are far worse than they would be for Marco.

He's a good manager, and maybe one of the few who could have us competing for Europe in our current situation. But I don't think he's the only manager who could keep us in the PL. And the club spending 60 million plus to please a manager that could leave in a couple months seems like too big a risk.

On Marco's side, if he signs and the club doesn't spend a lot he still has 15+ years left in his career. And his contract could always be bought out sooner.

Still, if he wants to leave, I get it. I just think it would be imprudent of us to spend in the transfer window like there's no tomorrow trying to convince him to stay.

pure conjecture but I think RLC would not pull his finger out for us. I've got nothing to back it up, But I just felt he thought we were below him. He may perform if and and only if we are playing for European places/the cameras are on us.

The thing is, MS has never been satisfied with ownership support.  Has vocally indicated in various windows how he wanted players in sooner rather than later, and that has never happened, always last minute.  And I'm not so sure the players that have come in were MS 1st choice types.  Just seems to me that over the MS years we've rarely seen a window that our coach has been happy with.  I do like MS, he certainly has his shortcomings, but has done well with what he's had to work with.  But as others have posted, he's not the end-all, there are other coaches that could/can do a job at FFC.

I think that's short-sighted tbh. Palace just paid a large fee to bring in Brennan Johnson, but if you believe Glasner's interview today saying he would be leaving Palace at the end of the season, it's quite clear that Palace and Glasner both knew way before today that Glasner was off.

You can leverage the fact you've got a good manager to bring in players, regardless, especially if - as to be believed - the khan's have a say on the finances and who's bought/comes in or not regardless - it'd suggest, to me at least, that signings are made not necessarily dependent on a manager (though it helps), but simply as a long-term strategy to help the club.

We are short on numbers, and it's clear to most here that we need more players to finish out the season - so it should be a simple footballing and longer term strategic decision to bring in players when they're needed, especially if there are concerns the squad is light.

These don't even have to be permanent players, temp contracts would do, and keep Marco happy, and also give him a stronger incentive to stay (even though he's admitted he loves the club ad would like to, but wants to be given the tools to do his job, which he's not fully been given this season).

Dear oh dear

I follow roma a fair bit

Perhaps I'm being too harsh, He's definately got better recently but has had a lot of injuries along the way. His records not dreadful but I just don't know if he makes it in the prem right now tbh. Would be better being a starter in lesser league first imo.

I'm not writing off his future completely, but right now we can do better

Prefer Pepi link

FFS 😅🙈

Can any of our targets stay fit long enough to get signed

Might wanna turn the plane round 😅 unless we're willing to overlook whatever the injury is

Always makes me laugh, our fans that moan like anything about club signings not understanding how it works at all. To get players that are decent we have to be patient as at our level they will wait for other offers. This "why haven't we signed 5 players in 2 days attitude" is stupid.

Decent players we have to work toward. if we want chum players we can go for them.

It's how business works, when you are a commodity, you wait on the best offer for your services, so if we want decent players, they will naturally wait for the best offer before committing

Jeroen

According to Dutch Media (voetbal international) we have increased our offer on pepi by a couple of million.
PSV seems to have a replacement in mind already as well

Who knows!?!!

The Pepi deal didn't make a lot of sense to me to begin with, but it makes even less sense now that he's injured. Raul has upped his form recently and Muniz will be back pretty soon.

Maybe Pepi is Marco's #1 target and in order to sign a new contract we need to get him?

He is Raul's long term replacement. Getting him in now is probably a little cheaper with the injury and allows him much more time to acclimate to the system and the Premier League.

Quote from: MickTheBeard on January 15, 2026, 10:02:57 PMIt's hard to imagine that silva would bring in 18 year arsenal winger/midfielder who would get little game time plus arsenal would not sell at the moment,it would not be a good move for both parties.
Nwaneri is class and would absolutely get game time.

Whether he'd actually want to join Fulham or Arsenal would consider selling are other matters entirely but he'd be a fantastic signing if permanent or an option with a loan.

Nwaneri is in a pretty weird place really, so a sale is probably disappointing for everyone but also makes a lot of business sense if the fee is right for both parties.

Arsenal already had their captain and best player blocking his two main positions, then they signed two other quality mature players in Eze and Madueke in those spots, and have had Dowman pop up as a younger and higher ceiling talent. His pathway to getting meaningful game time is really difficult.

The interesting thing is whether he and his people would see us as the best move or not. 5 years ago he would go to Germany, but the quality of the league isn't good enough now, and there aren't many other continental routes.

Agree type of player who has Dortmund written all over him.

Id absolutely love for him to come here tbh. But just can't see him wanting the move yet. A bit like nelson and ESR I think these kids do want to make it at arsenal having come through their youth ranks. But if he's not even making the bench then he's gotta go somewhere. Loan is what I expect will happen somewhere not competing directly with arsenal.

if I was them I'd be putting in a buy back clause on any sale

I think I read somewhere Mr khan wants the Kudos of having the Centre Forward of the USA
Men's  squad playing for Fulham.

If true, thin edge of the wedge if the Chairman/Owner starts picking the players. Find it hard to believe . It's bad enough having TK involved.
