Quote from: Angus Telford on January 25, 2026, 10:34:23 PMBobb and Pepi would be some business but surely that would mean we don't expect to make Chukuweze permanent in the summer, no?

Don't think that's the case at all man. Can't see a world in which we don't take that option at 22m

Likely Adama is gone at a couple mil pure profit, which means well need 1 more to have 4 out and out wingers still at least. Allegedly we were comfortable ffp wise and had some money to spend so there it is seemingly. No guarantees either that Wilson stays at this stage. Chuk and Bobb can both play either wing (and Bobb is left footed)

Suspect we sell Diop and Castagne this summer + possibly reed.

Those 3 + Raul is a lot of wages off the roster and maybe 10-20m in transfer fees. Then perhaps we look for cheap deals or loans if we need anything else for the squad then.

Luc DF in Diop out
Castagne out - main summer expenditure at RB
Reed out - Ridgeon in and or loan deal with option
Raul out - JKA in for 12m or renew raul as third choice

Other than that, squad would already be in a good place. More so if we can add a Sara/atta Sounds good but is Luc DF better than Diop? The team needs continuous improvement.

Quote from: Angus Telford on January 25, 2026, 11:21:20 PMGoing on Sportrac (yes I know it's not reliable but it's not bad as a guide) Chuk is on £120k per week and Wilson £55k. Which to me sounds about right.

So I think there's a deal to be made with Wilson - surely the club will agree he's earned some massive uplift on that.

Chuk on the other hand is gonna be expensive, close to our highest earner plus among the top 10 highest transfer fees we've paid.

Don't get me wrong, I do think we'll make Chuk perm (and extend Wilson) but then I can't also see us shelling out £60m on Pepi and Bobb in the same 6-month period, albeit technically across two different seasons, with us still needing a RB and CM (IMO) this summer.

I have a feeling our intention may be Pepi OR Bobb this window rather than both.

Doesn't seem to be the case to me, they play completely different positions and we've supposedly lodged bids for both

Bobb is allegedly on 50k at city, so won't be on mad wages

Between Raul, Diop, Reed, Castagne,Adama... You maybe shed over 300k per week by the time SCR comes into effect. And even then there's a bit of leeway timing wise before facing any real repurcusion

We already pay Chuk so thats no change

Bump Wilson to 110k (+60k)
Bobb at say 70k matches adama (=)
Pepi in (+80k? - he's currently on around 55k allegedly)

So that's +140k on current wage bill.

Luc DF a huge saving on Issa (-50k)
Someone like Van Ewijk would be attainable on similar or lower wages to a Castagne  (=)
JKA on low wages saves on raul.(-80k)
Ridgeon for reed (we already pay Seth minimal amount so -50k)

Saving off wage bill:
180k

So those moves would mean around 40k better off pw

Add a Sara or Atta and you're probably minorly increasing the wage bill in total.

+ 20-25m or more in transfer fees to offset about 130m spent on those buys

Seems plausible to me

I wasn't suggesting they were alternatives for the same position, just that we could probably only afford one. We often let the market/finances decide which positions to improve and which to defer until later.

Anyway I don't disagree with your sums or Deepings. Just think it would be a bit of a departure from our generally limited spending of about £20m net for the last few years, to about £80m this year, particularly with Chuk already pencilled in next summer (hopefully) too.

Not that I'd complain

Certainly agree it would indicate a significant increase in transfer fee expenditure. We have famously once spent a similar amount before in their tenure, but not for some time.

Perhaps they see the plan to sustainably reach premier league stability as the then spring board to take some risks again and appease Marco. The more measured net spends the last couple seasons has laid the conditions to splash a bit. Guess we'll see if they think it's worth the prices being thrown about soon.

At least well know by Monday ay.

If we could I'd keep Diop. In fact with Tete at right back, rather than Castagne I quite like the Diop/Andersen/Cuenca set up.
We've mentioned Luc's lack of height before. If Diop does go I think we will need to source another imposing centre back/ Lacroix must be feeling lonely - he seems to be the only one not mentioned in Palace's fire sale

FULHAM CLOSING IN ON OSCAR BOBB. SKY SPORTS NEWS

AJW48361

Pepi to me looks the Banker Signing. Not sure how long the arm will take to heal, but the American connection with our owner and the USA hosting the World Cup in the Summer I can see this Happening.

Love it hopefully we can get bobb other the line

As for pepi
Muniz back in the next couple weeks means that's not so much of a concern, just gives him plenty time to get up to speed with the squad and settle in to take over from Raul

March isn't too bad. The problem as I see it is that he doesn't look that good. But £25m apparently isn't real money any more, so perhaps it doesn't matter, and we think he has enough room to improve and follow the Muniz path.

£25m is not real money anymore when you consider City paid £100m for Grealish and now he's on loan at Everton.

Get the feeling with the Pepi deal The Khans want this Transfer over the line.

hopper

Gotta say I find Sky a bit hit and miss with their reporting. It's somewhat encouraging but I'm still gonna hedge my bets. We all remember them with Hudson Odoi a few summers ago where they were coming up with new ways of saying this kind of thing daily, for us to not sign him in the end.

AJW48361

Not seen anything of Pepi. what I've read and heard he's an all round striker gets involved in the build up play and works hard for the Team. That to me is a Fulham type Striker.

If we get Bobb - do people think that this means Harry will definitely not sign a new contract with us ?

I think it makes him perhaps more apprehensive about game time guarantees, he was reported multiple times as being frustrated with that aspect the last couple years.

But given adamas out seemingly, it's not impossible he stays on, especially if we make Europe and offer him a decent wedge.

But in this form I reckon he holds out to see what offers come his way. If he keeps this insane form up till end of the year  he'll get a massive offer and sign on bonus from a top club

sarnian

Calm down everybody. Deal close but apparently even though speaking to Bobb we haven't even put a bid on the table.

Not necessarily. We have four players whose main position is winger at the moment: Kevin, Chuk, Harry and Adama. Adama is leaving which means we can bring in a right-sided winger, Chuk can player either side comfortably and so can Harry as well as playing AM. This leaves Kevin as a left-only winger and Bobb as a right-only winger.

Harry is also on top form at the moment so no-one is taking his position away from him.

Bobb is a left footed RW who has played a load of games at LW and AM in his early career (and even 20 odd games up top during academy days) . He's not RW only for what it's worth

100% agree. Leave Wilson and Chuk to compete for the Right side and Bobb will have Raul, Kevin, Smith-Rowe and Iwobi on their toes as he can play in their positions. Great signing if it comes for competition
