It's very accurate to say that if Adama could finish we would never have been able to afford him.

I thin people underestimate how much of a psychological thing football is and how sapping it can be as a profession, even for the top professionals, players fall in and out of love with the game due to the demands expected of them all the time, and in fairness that may be the case with Adama here... It happened with Sterling I believe, and has happened with many others - whenever players have dips it's because they're not in the right physical and emotional headspace demanded of them. It happens at multiple periods throughout seasons, let alone careers. Harry Wilson is a prime example of this, currently giving his career best form, but before that, only showed glimpses of his potential

Jari Litmanen, Maarten Stekelenberg, Willian, Murphy, Davies, Baird, Zamora, Panstil, and Andre Schurrle - even Anguissa are all examples of players who came here at different stages of their careers and needed to reinvigorate them with us, or away from us.

I think sometimes we forget how significant a clubs cultural fit with a manager, a teams coaches, their teammates or the club and location can have a significant influencing factors.

For what it's worth I think Adama showed glimpses of his ability with us, clearly got on with the team and squad, though may have not enjoyed the occasional light ribbing he got from players - though I'm just speculating.. clearly had a decent relationship with the club and Marco, but needed a bit more of a hand round the shoulder, which I think Nuno will give him, especially given how West Ham have been struggling.

Time will tell, but I definitely hold nothing against him. He gave us some good memories and key wins - Man Utd being most obvious.

Regarding Traore, on a sporting level he was a disappointing and expensive seat warmer.
His few (very few) highlights show some great moments but that was about it, shame.

As for Wilson, I suspect he will want a massive signing on fee, whether for us or a new club, probably spread over the years of a new contract.

And why wouldn't he as a free agent?
If any club were to buy a player such as him at the level he's shown it would cost tens of millions of £££'s.
He would be a fool to not cash in!

Very excited about Bobb transfer , really hope we get that deal over the line. Once again we may not see his best form this season but going forward could prove a brilliant addition.
More concerned about the Pepi transfer. I can confess that I have not seen much of this lad but what worries me is the lack of confidence in his level emanating from ex players and journalists.
Have now listened to several podcasts and read several articles and am yet to find anyone who believes he can make the step up to Premier League.
I have confidence absolute confidence in Marco Sulva. If he is pushing this then fine but like some other contributors on this site I wonder if this is being pushed by owners for other reasons.
Having said all this, it would not surprise me if we make a late bid for Strand Larsen or pluck someone that has not been mentioned yet ...

I can see this being a DoF selection especially with the World Cup coming up. Lots of mentions of Fulham from the commentators. One of their own in the Fulham team raises Fulhams profile in the US. Sells loads of shirts and creates another generation of US Fulham fans.
...and if he does manage to take the step up to the EPL, all the better.
We've usually done really well with Americans at Fulham. Hopefully that will continue.

We have pursued this guy over multiple windows, whoever first suggested it from recruitment process we won't know, but the setup historically here is that the signing won't be made without him agreeing he wants the target.

As for his prospects, from these podcasters how many of these actually watch psv closely? Guys got one of the best goals per minutes ratio in europe at 22 years old (only just turned 23). Might not have worked out for him yet in a USA shirt but he's doing the biz in domestic and European competitions in between his injuries.

Well see if it translates, of course a big step up but as op said, if anyone can work with him I trust Marcos judgment on player development

Strand Larsen for the right price would be great. I think he'd be useful given the way we play. 40m would be a crazy fee though, and that's what is being quoted in the press.

Not much more than Pepi and if we can get him for 35 million, about the same as Pepi. The difference is he is proven premier league level and can play this weekend

If Silva wont sign, its not unrealistic to expect the club to take action and move on, particually if it is becoming detrimental to the wider team
