Bit difficult to judge that off a handful of sub appearances for City.

When he was a youth player in the PL2 he had a decent scoring rate of a goal every three or four games or so, but his assists are what stands out to me - 26 across 51 PL2 games. A bit of creativity certainly wouldn't go amiss.

I mean... Just read that sentence to see how far you're stretching to try and have a go at the club.

Last time I checked it was Silva and Wilson who choose whether Silva and Wilson sign the new deals offered and not Fulham FC.

I shudder to think what colour the sky is in your world!

Would be a shame to let our top scorer go, in a team that has struggled for goals

Yes, and on the other hand it means the club is planning for Wilson's agent trying his luck for a huge payday. I'd say they've managed it well.
I disagree.  Bobb is the massive upgrade to Adama.  We keep Wilson and Chuk, making 4 wingers with Kev.

fulhamfever

If Wilson don't sign a new deal it's cool we got Bobb, Kev, Chuck let's see how it goes

sunburywhite

I think the fact we are getting players in which is what Marco wants will mean he will sign a new contract very soon

Four should be enough really if you count ESR on the left too. I don't get what you're disagreement is, you think this is bad planning?

And more importantly, we have Iwobi on the left. He spent the majority of both his career and his Fulham career there. That being said, even though I thought 5 wingers in the summer was an overkill, I think it'll actually be fine, as all of them, apart from Kevin, can play in multiple positions. Chukwueze can play on either wing or in the middle, Wilson too, and he can potentially play as a false 9 as well. Iwobi can play in all positions behind the striker + can play as an 8 against certain opponents. Bobb can also play in every position behind the striker.

Absolutely, I should have made it clearer that I was taking AI for granted on the left.

The hole we need to address is probably 8.

I know it's got pretty advanced but fairly sure we do still need a human footballer on the left wing these days

sunburywhite

Do you think he looks like Jedi?

Is it a ploy to confuse the opposition?

My disagreement was with the poster who assumed us getting Bobb meant Harry was off.

Marco has consistently wanted 5. You can get away with 4 especially when we have extra options there, but Marco has always wanted 5 since it's a high work rate position and the most subbed. Also, I have zero data on this but I feel like it's the most likely to pick up a knock.

hovewhite

Believe Marco signs Wilson also stays but if Wilson goes still so be it sell him and wish him well.

As you say we have many options there.

Chuk, Bobb, Wilson, Kevin, Iwobi

Between those I think he'd be hard pressed to complain he doesn't have enough options or backup options on the wings between them, even if Iwobi is deployed more centrally at the moment, he has usually been a winger here - if he needs to move back there, one of Lukic/TC/Berge/Reed Ridgeon would take his place. And that's assuming we don't purchase an out and out 8 this Jan which we may well do.

I don't recall the specific 5 wingers quote you're referring to but what I recall being reported for sure is he's stated he likes players who can play multiple positions which literally all of those players bar perhaps Kevin can or have so it's not necessarily as rigid or binary a thing as needing 5 out and out wingers imo. Maybe wrong.

Don't believe there has ever been a direct quote from Marco about but watching the numbers around the windows, it's clear he wants 5. That's why we never let Godo go on loan last season.

I do agree we have enough options for the rest of the season but it's Marco. He was whining about only having 6 midfielders for 3 positions when Iwobi could play there too.

Angus Telford

Wilson is just keeping his options open, isn't he. I suppose there's an outside chance a Champions' League club could take him as a squad player, or as I said up the thread, a newly-promoted club could break the bank to make him an absurd offer. Can't blame him, but I also have faith the club is doing everything it can to extend him.

Chi_FFC

PSV out of the Champions League (not that I think it matters much either way in Fulham's pursuit of Pepi).
