I think he has some superb moments in attack. I just don't think he should play as an 8 anymore, apart from maybe against few teams.

TBF they're discussing wether his performances warrant the need for buying an 8. It's not completely unrelated

I agree 💯% but unfortunately and disappointingly Marco Silva made it very clear on Friday that we don't need one as he believes that Alex Iwobi can play there, a midfielder that is.

And most of us don't really believe Alex is suited there. With our current bunch of wingers and with ESR and king in the 10 there is question of where does Iwobi go..
You could make a point for selling him and getting a dedicated 8

Wed all love a CM but if there isn't one available at a deal we rate them at...another striker who can score in open play regularly would definately be welcome and a seemless transition for rauls ever more likely departure

Seems more of a signing for next season, get him fit, in-bed himself in the squad, compatibility etc. Then by the time the new season starts we will at least have Muniz and Pepi, potentially Jimenez or someone else?

For sure, but plenty chance he's useful this season. Reportedly back within 4 weeks.

Having goals off the bench could be crucial down the stretch. Especially if we end up with Muniz injury flaring up again

So according to this thread we need a CM who's strong, athletic, creative, ball carrier who can score goals and defend. So all we need simply is Steven Gerrard reincarnate.

With the array of wingers now think it's more difficult for Iwobi to move out a CM role in the team maybe a back up.

Marco rule is Iwobi stays on the pitch at all times & is preferred on either flank over any natural & more appropriate winger.

Complete cobblers Iwobi has he fare share of withdrawals.
