I worry that we wasted a lot of time on the injured American when we should have been focusing on a dynamic 8.

We were linked with a number of CMs early in the window and my suspicion is that it became pretty clear to the club early in January that the CMs on our target list were simply not going to be available this window (for one reason or another). On the other hand, a deal for Pepi (who we'd been linked with before and I'm assuming has been a top target for some time) looked like it might be possible (and it certainly sounds like it came very close to fruition). Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your perspective) things ended up not working out on that front.

Whatever time it starts I wouldn't set the timer until 1 hour before close, about right to catch any Fulham business.

In his defense , he usually plays people with premier league experience much quicker. He just thinks people who've played in serie A and la liga need 3 months to adapt before they can start 😅
