Would love to announce Emanuelson early doors this morning as I feel it will take a bit of pressure off the club and relax us fans. Then I'd love to see Big Tom and Butland come in personally. Wouldn't mind the Butland deal seeing him loaned back for the rest of the season though. Anything else, especially a centre half, will be a bonus for me.

:plus one:

That would be a perfect deadline day for me. Butland is the one that would make my day, gk may not be the biggest need but when you've got the chance to add an extremely talented young keeper for a few mil its a no brainer.

Butland's a waste of money. We already have a young keeper who actually has played Premier League football and won't start until Schwarzer hangs them up. Why spend transfer cash?

I like Stockdale but I'm far from convinced with him at current. Butland is pretty much at his level if not better and is 8 years younger. Anyway, with Schwarzer likely done after this season it would be good to have some really good competition at the position would it not?

Not a January rumor, but rather shockingly @MLSTransfer just claimed on twitter that Karagounis is in talks with the San Jose Earthquakes about coming to MLS in May.

Aren't they based in San Fran?

Scrap that... Near San Fran. If that happens then he'll  have spent his career in Athens, Milan, London and California. Tough life.

Yup, it's about an hour south of SF -- it's my local club and a few others on this board as well.  I would love to be able to keep cheering for him next year in one way or another.

As a Quakes fan, I'd like to see it happen too.
But the owners are too cheap, so it probably never will...
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most...

Interesting find on Manolev on a bulgarian sports web-site.

No idea where they got this from but they quote Jol saying "He's the perfect player for us - he can cover several positions on the right. However we don't have much money and will try to get him on cheap".

With reported PSV wanting 1.3mil

has Jol really said that anywhere?

I was the 20k viewer, and in other news Manolev is suppose to be crap (coming from my mate who is a PSV fan) so don't expect this to be a player who is starting week in week out... hopefully we sign Riether.

I'm not expecting anything from him as I haven't seen much of him. However like when the Berbatov news came up easiest way to get more detailed info at the time was to dig in the bulgarian press. THing is this one has not generated that much interest. Would be happy with another player from Bulgaria in the squad. If he plays and performs like Berbatov does on SOME occasions then the better it gets.

If we don't sign up Riether... we have MAD MEN in the office.

What about Wolfswinkle?

He has a ridiculous amount of third party owners, Sporting having probably the least share in him. So would be an insanely high asking price for Sporting to get a reasonable amount from the deal

The latest from Skysports cockwatch - hadn't heard of Sejad Salihovic on our radar.

Could it turn out to be a busy Deadline Day for Fulham? Urby Emanuleson is poised to join from AC Milan, while The Times also reports that they are in talks with PSV Eindhoven to sign right-back Stanislav Manolev. It is also claimed that they are in discussions to land Hoffenheim midfielder Sejad Salihovic and are competing for Valenciennes centre-back Nicolas Isimat-Mirin.

While on the subject of Fulham, Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has confirmed that Tom Huddlestone has held talks with the Cottagers. All sides of that possible deal are now waiting to see whether an agreement will be pushed through.

Latest (5 mins ago) from the BBC re Urby chappy:

Fulham are poised to sign Urby Emanuelson on loan from AC Milan for the rest of the season. The Dutch international midfielder played for Fulham manager Martin Jol during his time in charge of Ajax. "He can play left midfield, wide, play number 10, [and] I feel we need fresh legs," says Jol.

Also reporting that Villa are in talks to sign Clermont Foot defensive midfielder Yacouba Sylla for around £2m.

BBC Sport's chief football writer Phil McNulty:

"Everton will continue talks with Sevilla this morning about a deal for Spain striker Alvaro Negredo.

"David Moyes switched his attention to Negredo after an £8.6m deal for FC Twente midfield man Leroy Fer collapsed. It is a bold move by Everton - Sevilla rate Negredo at around £13m but their current financial state may force them to accept less.

"Despite a taciturn response to questions about possible transfer business after last night's win against West Brom, Moyes is also chasing another as yet unnamed Spanish target."

Like this comment:

"Yep, Harry Redknapp's alarm clock has just gone off (probably) and Sandra is making him a bumper breakfast today - three Weetabix (other rectangular wholegrain biscuits are available). Harry is already contemplating a swap deal involving two bits of toast, a boiled egg and Jamie Mackie. It's going to be that kind of day for him.

"The QPR manager is meant to be signing anything between five and 15 players over the next few hours".

Sky Sports linking us with Salihovic from Hoffenheim. Don't know much about him anyone else heard anything?

Inter signed Kuzmanovic but more importantly Mateo Kovacic for only €11m. Will be worth a lot more than that after the WC. Italians abusing the Croatian market with them coming into the EU

Villa Boas admits Huddlestone had talks with Fulham
Seems everyone just waiting to see if deal cam be agreed with agents

Also number of papers have us getting David Ngog at £2.5m from Bolton, even at that price not sure its a deal we want to do.

Zu-Meister

"We would like to strengthen the squad and I still feel we are short at right-back. Stephen Kelly left us and Sascha Riether is probably the only right-back.
"We will do something in every line: midfield, at the back and maybe up front."
