Re: Striker

Who is the mystery striker the media have linked us with?

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Fulham-wait-on-bid-for-mystery-striker-article780823.html

Let's make some random guesses. My candidates for the mystery man Fulham have apparently bid for are:

1.)

Shane Long (Reading, 24 years, Ireland)

2.)

Nicky Maynard (Bristol City, 24 years, England)

3.)

Daniel Sturridge (Chelsea, 21 years, England)

4.)

Nicklas Bendtner (Arsenal, 23 years, Denmark)

5.)

Carlton Cole (West Ham United, 27 years, England)

6.)

Roman Pavlyuchenko (Tottenham Hotspur, 29 years, Russia)

7.)

David N'Gog (Liverpool, 22 years, France)

8.)

Danny Welbeck (Manchester United, 20 years, England)

9.)

Bas Dost (SC Heerenveen, 22 years, Netherlands)

10.)

Luuk de Jong (Twente Enschede, 20 years, Netherlands)

What do you think?

SmithyFFC

Please not Pav, Maynard or Cole. Apart from Ngog, the rest probably out of our league.

Wesley Verhoek (linked with us last week) is on his way to Notts Forest. Theyve agreed a fee of £2.5m.

Us and Spurs are interested in Cisse (not Djibril) for €10-15m

He has confirmed that he's in advanced talks with Wolfsburg.

Southampton winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is having a medical ahead of a proposed move to Arsenal.

The deal is expected to be completed later on Monday or early on Tuesday, with Oxlade-Chamberlain signing a long-term contract at the Emirates Stadium.

Neither Arsenal nor Southampton are likely to disclose the fee but it is thought to be in the region of £12m.

The 17-year-old England Under-21 international will become Gunners boss Arsene Wenger's third summer signing.

Clubs across Europe have been put on alert after Espanyol manager Mauricio Pochettino announced star striker Pablo Osvaldo can leave the club.

Pochettino has said, however, that any club coming in for the Argentine hotshot will have to stump up the full amount for the players release clause, which stands at £26million.

Atletico Madrid are monitoring the player, as they look to replace Sergio Aguero, who recently moved to Manchester City, and Juventus are also interested.

Pochettino is quoted in Spanish daily Sport as saying:

If the player (Osvaldo) wants to go there is a buy-out clause of 30million (£26million) and the league starts in two weeks.

The time has come to put the cards on the table. As far as I am concerned he is a player that is difficult to replace if he goes.

It isnt good to not have things clear at this stage.

Wasn't it Osvaldo that Hughes wasn't allowed to sign and so took his ball and went running home to mummy??

The irony if we signed him....

Absolutely. Especially because WE are struggling to sign a striker currently.

Lack of ambition or are we still waiting for the right players?

one of the problems is BZ is first choice and any player of his type will know they are going to us as second choice.
Pav is not a starter for spurs so I doubt he would want to join us to do the same. At newcastle he would pretty much be first choice.

Lack of funds even? Though based on the interest of £130 a day on 7 million, MAFS £1.5 billion is generating ~£30K a day in interest!

I'd like to see us take a punt on a young gun and an established attacker!
