Before everyone goes mad here is why ...
Yes his tactics at times are poor, this run in the last 6 games has been simply not good enough but up until then I think we were having a decent season, losing Dembele & Dempsey has taken It's toll but even more of a blow was losing Diarra for most the season then losing Dejagah to injury too. Stability is key just look at Everton they could have sacked Moyes when they finished 17th but they stuck by him & look at them now. We certainly need some changes this summer, the board need to back Jol with some money or bring in someone they trust to back.

It looks like Schwarzer , Baird , Davies will be in there way this summer what great players they have been for us, I would expect Manolev , Karagounis , Frimpong , Emanuelson & Petric to follow.

Keeping Riether has to be a priority & Enoh if the price is right.
We need a pacey defender to partner Hangeland & CM has to be the key. We lack goals upfront but I am looking forward to a full season of Dejagah & Kacaniklic on the wings.

This season has been poor but sometimes these things happen look at Newcastle, all we can hope is Jol & the board are this as we still have some quality players & with a bit of investment in key areas we can push for the top 10 again, atleast the summer won't be boring at the Cottage COYW!

sorry,
jol is the worst manager in the premiership we have had bar none, it's not even close.
he took a good well disciplined team and turned them into a shambles, tht is called going backwards. All the managers have injuries, we are no better or worse than that.
He picked the wrong left back today ina bvery poor injury prone richardson. failed to bring on the specialist riis who he has demoralised, he keeps playing the hopeless and damaging karagonis (how he was boted 2nd best player says loads about how little fulham fans know the man is a disaster area, he tries but costs us, but that is a different lecture!) he took off kaka when the greek was the obvious choice. He still plays the imensely underwhelming ruiz just because he payed such a lot of money for him... the man is truely a waste of space, and even the one thing he is half good at namely corners he didn't lket him take.
Sometimes we have players on the posts at set pieces sometimes we don't the players are ill disciplined, arguing amongst themselves and it's jols fault, jhe should have gone ages ago.... one point in seven games couertesy of an aston villa own goal! 4 home defeats in a row!half the home games well 9 out of 10 ended in defeat, l;ost to the two relegated sides!
Jol inheriteda good side and has turned it into a whimpering mess of nothingness.
if he stays we will go down 100% for sure! Time for a change.
Just my opinion.

Second post in 2 days to start jol's not to blame but his tactics are someimes wrong.

Lets take today..starts with a midfielder at LB who being a sicknote goes off for the 5th time this season with an injury.
He is replaced by a player who is another wide midfielder, while all the time having a Lb on the bench.
Said LB then comes on and wide midfielder goes into CM, when game crying out for a pacy forward.
The decisons of Jol..dont you just love them.

Sorry for realising we have not had a great season but that it could be worse, I used to enjoy this forum but now It's just as bad as cottage corner

In response to a few posters above:

1. How can you say Jol is our worst manager in the Prem era when a former manager is Lawrie Sanchez?
2. Riise has been poor this season, everyone should be able to admit that. He is way past his best, offers little and its no surprise he didn't come on. Urby is a more than adequate LB.

3. Richardson is our best LB going on ability. He just can't stay fit.

4. How can you say 'shut up you idiot'. Just reminds me why I don't read this forum as much anymore.

5. The original poster has a point. Stability is important. We've had a high turnover of managers in recent years and I think Jol would have a chance if he was given some backing by the board. Jol has a lot of successes in the transfer market (Dejagah, Reither, Berba, Karagounis, Urby, Enoh) with limited funds. He is an attraction for players, many want to play for him and given funds I think he could succeed.

Basically I don't think it matters who the manager is, if the board do not back them, we will be in trouble. They can't hope for the best like this year and need to plan early instead of waiting for deadline day.

Thankyou, I can admit we have had a poor season but the premiership is a tough league & we didn't invest this summer, we certainly need some changes this summer but with investment I think Jol can get it right

richardson is pants and a sick niote. riis is a wonderful player undermined and demoralised by mr jol
Sanchez started with a very poor squad and tried to build it, with a few tweaks hodgson turned most of sanchez's squad into a very good unit. Sanchez was sacked far too early to tell what may have occured if he had of got to the january transfer window.
Jol started with a very good, settled squad, it was committed and organized, they have now lost all those qualitles and we are going backwards fast and he purchased a £10m player more suited to the lower leagues!

The poster after me shouldn't insult the other posters, I agree. Even if we have different opinions keep to the point.

It is vastly important who the manager is. it is up to him to get the best from the squad he has available, jol singularly fails in this respect. Whetehr the board backs him is another question. I certainly wouldn't trust jol with any of my money based on what i have seen.

I think changing the manager now would be a huge gamble, especially given the lack of investment in the team.

There have been some real lows this season, but - in spite of some heavy tinkering - no striking combinations have seemed to work for us and we have a poor selection of players to choose from in midfield.

Given the amount of money he's spent I think Jol's actually overachieved in the transfer market. Berbatov's been a highlight, and with the right striking partner could still flourish for us. Dejagah's been lively, Riether speaks for himself and the rest have been useful back up. Only Richardson's flopped - and that's just because of his dodgy hamstrings.

I will say this though - Jol needs to sort out the Berbatov/Ruiz dilemma. One of them needs to be sold. Berbatov is the better player but how can Jol get rid of Ruiz - his most expensive acquisition and one of the few in our starting eleven who happens to be under 30?

fulhamguy

I'm not saying Jol doesn't make mistakes. Some decisions baffle (Petric for Kaca today was outrageous for example). But this season has been written off because of no squad depth due to lack of investment. When we have had a fit squad we were flying, after January for example. But when we picked up injuries / suspensions (Brede, Sidwell, Dejagah) we've been poor because there is no realistic alternative.

Oh and Riise is not wonderful in my opinion. Past it and offers nothing anymore.

Up until mid April we were having a good season

fulham traveller

we could of on today if we were giving a pen and then we would of been 10th fine margins, give jol some bloody money and trust him. should of kept kaka on, bit we are Fulham 12 years in the prem is no mean fete at all, but we need to invest, spend 30m to push in the top half, we are not far away

The Rock

MAF picked Jol for a reason - he's a decent gaffer.

We need competition for places. Roy was great at exploiting that. The past few games the team picks itself. I didn't even rate Sidwell and all due respect he's really done quite well (judging this on the season).

Jol has had the luxury of sussing out players. Reithner you keep. Maybe Richardson you don't. But I won't be judging the team on the past few games when we've been safe.

It comes down to how much Jol needs and MAF wants to dish out. MAF wants max profits and ~ safety. If Jol wants champions league football, he should join Mark Hughes at that whatever team he's with and I'm sure they're in Europe somewhere oops I mean he's gone and that team are fizzy pop.

I'd like to see Jol stay and I'd like him to be able with the help of the board bring in good players that create competition for places. We'll see, but I'd be expecting as much. MAF a business man.

Lighthouse

How can Jol still be defended? Week in week out we play the same way. Berbatov and Ruiz behind him. They are great, wonderful players but are crying out for a forward of pace to play in the system. This has been the problem from day one. So Jol looks at his squad and he still decides to bring on another slow forward in Petric. The same player who once missed a goal from the goal line and was offside anyway. If we had lost and Fulham tried to go forward at pace then there would be less to complain about.

Players being injured and players making mistakes are not always down to the manager. But yesterday Brede was charging up the pitch. Do we know why? Frustrated that we have no runners again? Jol being defended because if bad luck or a bad squad is fine. However he doesn't use what he has and plays the same way week in week out. Despite injury problems. As if losing Dejagah didn't matter. Like a manager playing a computer game who doesn't know how to change the formation.

I don't believe in him and the players look as if they have long ago stopped listening. Please let him go. He is the worst manager bar none we have had in the Prem with the squad he has.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Zu-Meister

if dejagah wasnt kicked against qpr, everyone will be still singing jol praises, losing dejagah was a huge blow. with him we had more chance of beating villa, reading and arsenal, and liverpool i think.

Kaca was having calf problems that is why he was taken off, you could see at certain times he was trying to stretch his calves out, but obviously did not work. Not so outrageous as you suggests)

What players do we have who can play this way? None. No investment = no choice. And don't say Hugo, he is woeful.

Deanothefulhamfan

The funny thing is we are 1 point off a top ten spot, and 5 from the drop.... The problem is we have been so poor and Jol has no ideas to change things around. Would rather have played our development team the last few games of the season, least they would have cared...

Big changes in the summer are needed, both on the pitch and off it

Deanothefulhamfan

Zu meister I agree losng dejegah was a.massive blow as we lost our shape and balance to the team.... Jol should have changed things around though, once it was clear the system without him wasnt working
