VIA SSN LIVE TRANSFER CLOCKWATCH:

We are hearing reports of Roma officials arriving in England today to negotiate the sale of a player and a signing. The rumours are that Fulham, Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo. Meanwhile, Roma are said to want to buy Arsenal's Gervinho.

not quite sure why we would be interested in him...very slow and simillar to ruiz and berbatov?..but yet he again he is a class player so i would not refuse him if true!

also i read on there julio baptista is a free agent..would anybody have him?

karlfulham97

I really dont want to see another slow stiker. Nah not really, he is 31 now.

Sammyffc

Was this not the guy that Sparky had his 'this club lacks ambition' wobbly about when he walked out?
@hincharoo

Sammyffc

ahhhh i thought he meant osvaldo haha

FTID

Osvaldo-Yes
Baptista-No

twang

I certainly wouldn't call Osvaldo slow, he's pretty pacey over short distances.

Ordar

When did Osvaldo become slow?

Ironic isn't it? Still I doubt if we will get him but we seem to be suddenly linked to a better class of player.

What happened to Odenwingie? Will nobody remember Odenwingie?  :Get Coat gif:
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

When he joins fulham.
Look at AJ & Ruiz as 2 examples of players who had(or were told) they had pace. Its seems to vanish once they sign on the dotted line.

This rumoured move is confirmed by the Gazzetta dello Sport today.  He's an Italian international - though Argentinian-born.  He's better in the air than either Ruiz or Berbatov.

He's talking to Spurs, not us.

He was definitely speaking to us confirmed by some reliable sources but I think that's as far as its gone. I can't see us pulling this off and to be honest, not sure why we would for the prices mentioned. If we're going to spend silly money on a forward, how much would we spend on a position we are in dire need of, ie. a midfielder.....

Sammyffc

all ive seen is spurs are talking to soldado not osvaldo , god knows

cmg

Osvaldo....Ardiles.

Bit slow now....but boy could we do with finding someone like him.

TWFL

It would be a royal f you to Sparky by Mack and co if we do sign him. He's a classy player who is definitely proven but not sure we can compete with the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Valencia who also want him.

But my god, Berbatov and Osvaldo up front with Ruiz in behind.

TheManOnTheBus

I think I'd buy a second season ticket for that.   :yay:

Even with our new owner do we really think we have jumped from Odenwingie to 17m or whatever for Osvaldo? Great if true but I very much doubt it.
