The Official 2015 Silly Season Transfer Thread

Just putting it out there, I don't like the Silly Season Transfer Thread, too much clutter, not quite sure why it's a thing but get on with it I suppose!

Toumani Diagouraga would be a good signing, something we missed this gone season; big, athletic, rangy and a pure defensive midfielder. Ideal partner for Lasse Vigen Christensen next season. He's not just a brick wall either, an impressive passing accuracy of 85% this season.

The cost would be interesting, he was bought for £500k by Brentford in 2010, he has a contract until 2017 and he's just been named their Supporters Player of the Year - could be more costly than he's worth, but the job he'd provide could be worth the extra few quid in expense.

Haha, FPT. But just imagine what it would be like if all these pieces of junk got their own thread.

I rather like to see the most outrageous 'rumour' of the season. Thiago Alcantara was the best of the past few years, although, in many ways, the Dimitar Berbatov one was just as unlikely.

Look on it as a garbage dump, through which you can scavenge for suitable pearls.

It might just be me, but I think singular transfer rumour pages interest more people and would more interesting for discussing the rumour! No one has touched the Diagouraga story.

As for most outrageous... Mario Gomez under Roy Hodgson?

Fulham set to face battle to secure deal for Arsenal midfielder

Fulham and Bournemouth are chasing Arsenal youngster Renny Smith, according to Eagles Element.

The Cherries, now promoted to the Premier League, are eyeing up the 18-year-old midfielder who is ready to move on from the Gunners.

He's already been on trial in Italy at Serie A side Capri and is a very versatile player, and is able to play at full-back if called upon.

The Whites and the Cherries will rival Premier League sides Crystal Palace and Aston Villa for his signature.

His agent has said that he likes the style of football in Serie A but plenty of other clubs are eying him up.

He told CalcioNews24: "Renny loves the Italian style of football, knows the history of Serie A and is fascinated by it.

"I think Italy is the ideal place for his style, as he is a really intelligent player. He has already represented Austria at Under-18 and Under-19 level, so he has experience and character.

"There are several clubs interested in him, but he has always had a passion for Italy, its football and its style. He is ready for this challenge.

"The other clubs tracking Renny are Fulham, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and more."

Kit Symons' Fulham are looking at another rebuild of there squad this summer after a dire season back in the Sky Bet Championship.

The London club finished in 17th place, amassing 52 points whilst Bournemouth won the league, accumulating 90 points in the process.

Think they hav just gone up this season

Yes, they won Serie B. But it's CARPI not Capri. It's a small town in Northern Italy about 30 miles from Bologna, not the little island off Naples.

yes a little town,  like Sassuolo,  near Modena. Interesting that both have managed to reach Seria A. However,  even if Carpi was intended in the article, they have, as yet, no experience whatever of Serie A.

At no point in the article does it say that, it states a fact in recognising them as a Serie A side, like you would Bournemouth now. The rest of the quotes suggests his 'passion' and interest for Serie A, rather than his or Carpi's experience of it.

That would be 4 very good signings.

Birmingham City, Fulham and Wigan Athletic keen on out-of-contract Ipswich Town winger

Championship duo Birmingham City and Fulham, plus relegated Wigan Athletic are keen on signing out-of-contract Ipswich Town winger Paul Anderson, we understand.

The 26-year-old will not be offered a new deal at Ipswich in the immediate future, although further discussions may be held later in the summer if that suits both player and club.

The former Nottingham Forest man, who scored in the first-leg of the Championship play-off semi-final draw with Norwich City, hit the net seven times in 71 appearances during a two-season spell with the Blues, but regularly found himself on the substitutes' bench during his time at Portman Road

Town fans wanting Anderson to stay have set up an online petition asking McCarthy to give the Melton Mowbray man a new contract, but we understand there will be no shortage of takers, should nothing materialise.

Birmingham and Fulham will be looking to strengthen their squads after finishing 10th and 17th respectively in the Championship, while Wigan, who released five players on Tuesday, will rebuild after falling into the third tier.

Anderson, who played his last game for Town in Saturday's play-off second-leg defeat at Norwich, is one of several players to have not yet been offered new terms by the Blues following their failure to cement a Play-Off Final date against Middlesbrough on May 25.

Burton and another coach to come in (curbs not a dead cert) ?

In theory our structure will be solid. Rigg focusing on ensuring football matters run smoothly, Ali Mac ensuring administrative side runs smoothly, Jennings ensuring youth side runs smoothly (he has had a bad year given the hype) and Burton focusing on the coaching quality of things.

In practice if Rigg refuses to make the big decisions such as removing Kit then it all falls apart.

With Kit in charge we will finish midtable at best.

Terry Burton would be a disappointment for me, get curbs and some other coaches but leave Burton well alone

QPR, Derby and Fulham target move for Swansea defender

QPR, Derby County and Fulham are reportedly targeting a move for versatile Swansea City defender Jazz Richards.

The 24-year-old only has a year left on his contract at the Liberty Stadium, and could look for a move away from the club after failing to hold down a regular first-term spot.

The Wales international, who can play either of the full-back roles or in midfield, spent the second half of the 2014-15 season on loan at Fulham, where he made 14 appearances, and they are keen to bring him to Craven Cottage permanently.

However, they will face competition from QPR and Derby, who are also looking to strengthen their squads for promotion pushes next term.

I don't rate Richards, but I don't think Grimmer is the answer either.

Fulham prepare summer bid for Sheffield United forward

Sky Bet Championship outfit Fulham are interested in a move for Sheffield United forward Jamie Murphy, according to FLW sources.

Murphy has only just signed a contract extension in January but could be set for a move down south, and FLW understands Fulham are keen to bring in the Sheffield United forward on a permanent basis.

Deployed as a winger or striker, Murphy creates goals and scores them too which is something that that Fulham have been struggling for all season, even with the signings of 42 goal pair Ross McCormack and Matt Smith.

As the club look to bring in players that have more knowledge of the Football League and are capable of securing a higher place in the league next season, Fulham boss Kit Symons is seemingly wanting to add English talent to his very diversely European side.

The 25-year-old Scottish national is said to be happy at Bramall Lane, but is still looking for the regular first team football that he came to England for.
