Shurrle the worst player how long have you watched fulham? 5 minutes?

Riversider

Put your glasses on love and look up what "Pound for Pound" means,
Jim Hicks was worse but he cost nothing and was paid virtually nothing ,
Schurrle is on £17,260 a DAY !
An abhorrent amount of money for a very slow and very average player,
But you carry on defending him if he floats your boat.

What has concerned me the most this season, is this, I went to see QPR v Villa on Friday night, and  what I liked about QPR was how good they were when they didn't have the ball, to a man the outfield players were all like Jack Russell's every time Villa were in possession,  they didn't give Villa a second the entire match, at no time during the 90 minutes did they let up,
Individually (on paper) they are poor but as a collective they are a decent side,
So if QPR can do it why can't we ?
I can't ever remember a Fulham team as poor as this one out of possession,  we don't have the energy, we don't have the desire and we don't have the passion to get the ball back,
We are an unbelievably slow side and we appear to lack fitness and energy,
I'm old enough to remember players like Ray Houghton and Ray Lewington and more recently Steve Sidwell , it was their mission to get the ball back, where are those players now ?
At some point in the next two transfer windows we need to bring in 2 or 3 "Jack Russell" type players to address the slide, in the meantime Jokanovic can at least try to motivate this slow, lazy, demotivated group of players,
And one last thing, Andre Schurrle, pound for pound the worst player I've ever seen in a Fulham shirt, £6.3 million a season on a 2 year contract, £12.6 million in wages for what he does is abhorrent, please, please tell me that Fulham can break the contract in the event of relegation, if we can't then we are right royally fu**ed next season, Simon Davies was at the game on Saturday,  I bet he earnt a fraction of that money and yet Schurrle isn't fit to lace his boots.

I agree with everything you say. First schurrle is dreadful and seems to be picked no matter what.. he will score a few but is certainly causing more problems berba like, as I have said before.

second and more to the point, out of possesion we are clueless. watching bournemouth slip into a proper formation when defending, keeping shape and doing simple things correctly was impressive, our team looked worse than a sunday morning side. Hard to know who is really at fault but certainly so many last minute signings was not likely to work, especially as the key positions have not been dealt with namely full backs of a proper experienced quality, central midfielder that has a physical prescence, and proper partner/understudy for mitro.

Losing the defensive coach was clearly an indication something is wrong and Parker seemed very odd and not a good thing in my opinion.

Schurrle is the worst player you've both ever seen in a Fulham shirt? Mods the trolls have escaped from the dungeon

He day say pound for pound and as I am sure you know that is idiomatic for not worth the money. of course we have had vastly worse players, we can all name at least three teams worth of our 'favourites.' Schurrle is clearly very talented BUT IMO is a waste of space because he is clearly playing for himself and not the team. I am not going to repeat all I have said elsewhere but he is not a team player and fails to make anything like an appropriate contribution. Berba is the closest I can think of to him in terms of playing for himself rather than the cause.

Funny joke. Real funny.

If thats your realistic football opinion of Schurrle, no one will take you seriously.

A simple NO I don't agree he is rubbish. OR Yes I agree he is rubbish    will do without the added sarcasm.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Schurrle may have some faults like any player, but he's a bloody good one and one we will need to get out of this mess.

Can hide behind 'pound for pound' but calling him the worst player ever is complete and utter garbage.

I have been wondering for several games about the passivity of Fulham, particularly without the ball, and the reasons therefore.  This OP makes sense and explains a lot.  What surprises me, however, is the assertion that Jokanovic is loyal to the Championship players and reluctant to bed the new players in.  One characteristic that has stood out about Jokanovic in my mind is his ruthlessness with respect to players, particularly defenders, who are not cutting it.  There certainly was no sentiment toward Kalas or Piazon.  On the other hand, I can see no other explanation for why McDonald keeps starting.

Agree with everything in this post.

(slow clap and virtual hug)

After the Cardiff midfield ran through the team I can't see how anyone can say the midfield isn't slow and lacks energy... (Seri, MacDonald)

And as far as Schurrle goes, I don't value being a ok scorer over being a good team player.   Especially if you can see your side is leaking goals and you need to put just a little bit more effort into being more than your normal self.

Plenty of players worse than Schurrle.  I don't like the way he hangs on to the ball a little too much when the first option pass would do but he is a match winner.  Its the other end of the pitch that worries me more.

Just managed to pluck up courage and watch the lowlights on MOTD - watch him in the pre- match huddle - looks uninterested - which is disappointing as he is a brilliantly skillful player
