I hope so. It is obvious SP rates him based on how quickly he put him in the side last year. If Kongolo, Marlon, and Lookman are all finishing up I think it puts the club in a strong position heading to the end of the transfer window.

Where did that come from? What have you seen that suggests Marlon is a near miss? Or are you just thinking because it's been a while it looks unlikely? It's only been two or three days since we seemed to have had it confirmed by fabrizio Romano who seems pretty on it. He called aina days before we announced it too.

4 days, almost 5. I found the timing of the interview, which focused on our attempts to get a centre back in and that we have had a few near misses but we are trying, interesting. Why push that out if one or more are just about to be announced? Of course I hope I am wrong.

I thought he put it out as it was getting quite tense on social media and even this forum re the need to sign some CBs and he was getting criticised quite heavily on a personal note for not signing anyone. I thought he did it to get fans on side by telling them he's working hard and to put context to what's happened so far or what's not.

He also if memory serves me correctly did imply he thought we may have some good news soon in that regards which I associated with Marlon at the time as kongolo didn't have the traction then as does now.

Whilst it's not unusual for signings to be announced over the weekend it's also true that the announcement of Marlon came on Thursday, so permit permitting I had him to join this weekend or monday/Tuesday next week.

I translated some of it, basically saying that Marlon has signed for Fulham and they've just signed his replacement from Real Madrid B Using the money. So Marlon will happen

It sounds like Sassuolo are looking for a a replacement for Marlon, that might be the delay.

TK said one potential signing had to gone down with Covid and I suggested that it was possible it was Marlon and this was the cause of a delay in any announcement.  Just speculation TK was referring to him.
