It's now 6 months since Mr T was charged with multiple betting offences. Wow.

WhiteJC

how long since he admitted them?

Anyone can blend into the crowd.  How will you standout when it counts?

They are doing similarly in regard of Jurgen Klopp where he accused a referee of bias against Liverpool with no proof (in fact the opposite was more true), yet they were quick to ban Marco Silva for far less.

Media have also gone silent on this and Toney's cases.

Happy to remind FOF of another historical case regarding the 100+ breaches of FFP rules over a nine year period and failure to provide accurate financial information by Manchester City. Four months since charged and waiting

He had until the 5th to respond so this is still well within the right timescales.

Does anybody know how long it took Barton to be 'sentenced' or indeed how long that investigation took?

Give the FA enough rope and they'll evntually hang themselves. Cannot come soon enough for me since waste material can have a very unpleasant smell wherever it travels. As for Toney there will be a great anti-climax whenever as yet more evidence that the FA is rotten to the core and the game it runs likewise.

I think it has to be made clear that Mr Toney is on the verge of an England place in the squad. The FA will only rush to ban overseas players or players or coaches who have talked about them negatively. Or don't have the big club clout. There is a lot to consider for the FA.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

I'd laugh my socks off if City were given a points deduction that handed Arsenal the title  ::ahah::

Craven Mad

By acting so slowly, the FA has allowed Toney/Brentford and Man City to benefit from their actions.

Swift intervention is the best deterrent.

I don't agree with the decisions against us, but the swift punishment of Marco/Mitro definitely affected how I expect our players to react to referees. Im not sure it would have had the same impact if it took the best part of a year for anything to happen...

Toney admitted the majority of the charged at the end of February.

It will be more damaging to Brentford if he's banned at the start of next season as opposed to this season.

That's assuming he's still a Brentford player. There will plenty of club's interested in him. For example, he could be a potential Kane replacement if he goes elsewhere this summer.

Imagine the outcry if he went to Spuds and then got a nine month ban.

It might even raise a smile or two on this board.
Any fool can criticise, condemn and complain, and most fools do.

Highly doubt anyone will pay the fee Brentford will demand for him until they know what the ban will be.

i think that is the problem the FA need to punish the player but not the club. So to suspend Toney mid season while not giving Brentford the opportunity to bring in a replacement could be seen to be unfair. However if they wait until the start of next season when the transfer window is open Brentford have the opportunity to bring in a replacement.

I think this idea of punishing the player not the club is not right. Was anyone arguing for this when Mitro got banned? While you could argue that all Toney's offences were pre-Brentford, bluntly Brentford are the club holding the player when the music stops. And if that means they lose his services for six months or don't get the transfer fee they were expecting, then tough.

There is also much interest in Brentford's director of sport who was previously in charge of their recruitment and a certain London club's name keeps coming up. Brentford are likely to lose their goalie too.  It is what happens when you hit a winning formula.  I would think Toney's 'ban' will be the last thing on their mind.

Have a listen to the Willian podcast for a little more perspective on how 'big' Fulham could become.  It is a really interesting fifteen minutes or so and he is quite the character.

It is certainly living rent free in more people's heads on this board than in the actual club that the accused plays for.

Very doubtful. Let's say 30 or 40 people on this forum are interested. In Brentford FC, all the directors, lawyers, Toney, his agent, Brentford's comms and PR specialists, Toney's manager, coaches and teammates, all the fans and so on. That will amount to more than 30 or 40. Even at a club the size of Brentford.....
