DM states above that another bid is forthcoming whereas Sky saying we have walked away from McTominay. So much for his inside information.

This year the clubs fall into two categories, the haves and the have nots
The clubs with FFP money to spend are the haves - so FFC and a few others
The clubs with money but no FFP availability are the have nots - so all/most of the top clubs including Man Utd and Arsenal

It is no secret who they are and it makes no sense for the haves to make life easier for them by paying more than the minimum for any of their players.

So Man Utd and others can value a player for what ever they want but if they don't sell some of their players - there will be no transfers into the club.
As Arsenal found out with ESR, he's only worth what another club will pay and of course all the buying clubs know who is in trouble and have the upper hand in this window.

It could be better, but it's not a fantasy:

But DM may still be correct. All part of silly season. In fact it's turning into super silly season.

Really hope this is true. I don't want a player too disappointing for a top team to drop down to 'his level'. At £30 mil no less. I'd prefer to see us gamble on someone going the other way, like we did with Dembele and Palhinha.
Doesn't this apply to Andreas as well?

I wouldn't mind McTominay, I am not a fan of his for sure, but him in the 8 role going box to box is an upgrade. I do feel he isn't suited to the holding role and that is more of a need for us in my mind

Yeah summed up well mate. Man U are absolutely desperate to sell to achieve what they want on incomings as they are FFP stuffed. Most of their other players on ridiculous salaries so they can't shift them. McT is pure profit as well. Think we hold a lot of the cards here like Fluminese who are also desperate to sell and no other interest at this point. I can see why we are holding out the more you think about it. £25m max for McT then I reckon and I reckon Man U will come down if no one else comes in higher. If they do fair enough. Wouldn't be gutted if McT was a no go. Would be far more so with Andre with what he offers and his huge potential.

I wonder if it's TK or Ali Mac briefing Dharmesh Sheth for his exclusives :slap:

Quote from: DM on August 06, 2024, 05:23:23 PMFulham hierarchy are ready to spend another 60m+ in the final weeks of this transfer window.

Any actual detail on that?

Considering we've been linked with Mctominay and André, both of whom have been valued between 20-30 million, I'd have thought £60m would've been obvious and the bare minimum..

Any idea of who, including the two mentioned we're linked with? Can give vague identifying details, not the exact names (I.e., positions, type of player in terms of style, leagues etc), I assume we're at this point working multiple possibilities.

Feel like you've dangled a carrot, but not given much more than can be gathered.

The two weeks is promising, though the league opener is in 10 days (we'll 9 tomorrow) and we need players in ASAP.
Other options to André are being looked at although we will wait till late to make that decision.
Another McTominay bid is imminent
Fulham also remain confident on Chalobah but again it will be late as he wants a club in Europe.

At this stage I don't see Fulham adding before Utd.
Best bet is Scott McTominay.

Mctominay even if we offered the money I still believe he would still stay so glad that we've stalled our bid would rather have a player who wants to come to the cottage.that should the main requirement from the player, all players .

I still think there will be a left field signing that is not expected, remember Palhinha!
Guy goes into the doctor's.
"Doc, I've got a cricket ball stuck up my backside
"How's that?"
"Don't you start"

Technically esr was too disappointing for a top team.. he hardly played, whereas Mctominay played regularly last season as Utd finished 8th.

The logic you're using doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

Mctominay could quite easily do a very good job for us, perhaps even better then he did at utd, if he came.

Murphy was considered finished, Simon Davies, - dickson etuhu, John painstil? Zamora - all in their reserve teams when we bought them and went on to be part of our most successful Premier league period.

Hangeland hadn't signed for a top club, had been playing his career in Norway until we signed him and became one of the top CBs in the PL.

It's nonsense, to suggest Mctominay can't do a job for us.

If he scored 8 goals for us from midfield, he'd be our second top scorer based on last season, and that's not playing all of UTds games or playing more centrally and up front (normally a dm for Utd), which he would be a CM, CAM position and could get us 12 goals, which would've put him joint first last season - from midfield.

McBrideOfFrankenstein

Seriously, what is with all the quoted posts with nothing new at the end?

@jolslover

Chiesa? Would be unreal. Why not. Would be a Berba level signing. With Smith-Rowe coming in I think Marco is building something special will be an exciting last few weeks..

Chiesa would be insane but I would be stunned if he wants to come to Fulham. If anyone can convince him it would be Marco but then we would also have to pay a likely huge wage request which I doubt.

I'd say it would be an even bigger signing, as he's younger and he still has potential to improve further. But as I said, I could only see it if we sell Andreas and even then I think it would be extremely umlikely. Probably just agent talk, but we'll see.
