Have you got a sell on clause in Nelson ?. Give it a rest he is pony and Arsenal are trying to rob someone of 20 million for a player that if you add up all his substitute appearances he has played 6 games in 2 years . Worth around 2.5 million in the real world

Source? I've only seen that they're willing to let him move but only let him go if they line up something else.

Interestingly Everton also now rumoured to be in for Reiss if they fail to get Ernest for Lyon so could be the same for us.

Quote from: Deeping_white on August 29, 2024, 10:16:21 PMIf we're having a browse through Lyon's wingers, why not Malick Fofana? Genuine LW who's very two footed with big potential. Sign him on a perm and get Nelson on a loan with an option and our wing depth looks pretty handy

Fofana is the best of the bunch yep - maybe they're not willing to sell.

I actually hope we sign Wissa and Toney goes to Saudi so the bus stop get relegated and you go back to the Brentford forums to moan there instead

Will leave @jayffc to dig up the obligatory highlight reel  ::scarf::

 :slap:

Ask and ye shall receive ha!

insert obligatory highlight reel here ::scarf::

Fits the left footer who plays RW and can play across the forward line narrative.
Top 10 for completed dribbles in Europe last season just behind Leroy Sane and just ahead of Jamal Musiala. The "League 1 dribble king"

25 years old.
Looks like he'd be thoroughly entertaining to watch.
Yes please!

Questionable source though - Peter O'Rourke who lots seem to give a load of stick to for being useless. Can't say I've paid close enough attention. The other links look more credible so far but hey... Exciting link anyway, someone get Rutzler on the line and see if he's heard anything!

From the highlights looks great, but is another left footed inverted winger.
For me Traore is doing great as an authodox wide right player.
What we are lacking is someone who is effective wide left, hopefully two footed like Aiyte was.

ESR is very effective wide left which marco has commented on, he played some of his best stuff for Arsenal there, and Iwobi has played there more than anywhere else in his career. Already got one goal (the winner) from the left this season and was great there in preseason. Esr also scored his goal from drifting in from behind from the wide left  hand side last game.

Then we have stansfield who marco has said he feels can play off the left effectively as he did in the cup + Godo  in reserve (+ sess)

Im not sure I get why people feel the Left is a priority over the right as ive mentioned a few times. We seem to be favouring RWs who can play across the line and makes sense to me as we most Bdr whos more right sided. And already brought in esr whos more the left side and central.

+ we all know marco loves inverted wingers.

Not wanting to doubt Marco's preference for inverted wingers, but sometimes it slows down counter attacks when the wide player has to check back onto his favoured foot

Pete O'Rourke may as well be a fiction writer unfortunately for us, so I'm not buying into those Zhegrova links.

Wonder what's in store for us tomorrow. Feels a lot less pressing than other transfer deadline days have.

Apparently the source is solid according to the original West Ham tweeter, but why we'd be interested in JWP I have no idea

Wow he's class. The skills and the pace are really impressive. Wouldn't be a bad option but I do agree that an player is needed on the left wing.

The source is solid according to the tweeter who tweeted it?  Means v little I would say.

Seems highly, highly unlikely unless it freed up ESR to stay LW or andreas/cairney got sold which is just not gonna happen surely unless we get some insane out of this world offer we cant turn down (tbf the 40m we were allegedly offered but with more of that up front might be trickier to turn down)

Looks like clickbait to me. Fabrizio confirmed Nottingham interest but not ours earlier. Don't see this happening. Not a bad player and amazing set peices, on loan if someone departs fills a gap of course, but highly unlikely it comes off youd think

I do no think Silva would want him, he mentioned wide player not central midfield.

General

I'd have made the same bet @Roberty if 300 by end of the window and not the week as you said. Hope you got a good payout.

Look at everybody else's University dissection or visitation or whatever it is called. Thoroughly enjoy myself. Be insulted for no reason and end up having a lovely day.

Then look forward to Saturday.
I must be worse than you Mr, Lighthouse. Have only Geography 'O' Level and will be staying up until 0600 hrs hoping we sign someone decent. 76 years old and don't learn from previous years mistakes.

Thailand Mick

Scrub Rayan Cherki off the list about to sign a three year contract extension.

Zegrova would be a fantastic addition to the squad, looks a real menace.
The way he runs past the defence is unbelievable and he can also score some fantastic goals.

I don't see any downside to signing Ward-Prowse if we are/were interested? We will have all positions in midfield covered and be considerably stronger in squad depth to a lot of our rivals.

Quote from: JimmyConway on August 29, 2024, 09:14:51 PMCommon knowledge we are after a left winger come forward type but wonder if there might be a loan come in as well? Goalie or defensive midfielder? Looking at squad there is room?
Cant see someone loaning us a keeper to be either second or third choice, wouldnt that be strange as usually loaned to get game time? But i can see a loan coming in as cover somewhere
