Really think we need to give Munich a deadline with a put up or shut up kind of a thing ,where we give a certain date and if it's not done he won't be sold simple and let Joao know the same

Bayern are simply trying to bully us the way they bully the rest of the Bundesliga. It is reported that other clubs are interested in Palhinha, but he's not looking anywhere but Bayern at present.

I imagine that when they begin the next phase of their campaign to get him - once their 'final' offer is knocked back - which is to wait until almost deadline day and then put in another derisory 'final final' offer, this could open the way for others in the meantime.

My guess is Man Utd may get him for £55m about a week from the end of the window, but as Arsenal are also rumoured to be interested (and have the carrot of CL football to dangle), a possibility could be ESR plus £20-£30m or even ESR and Nketiah in a straight swap? However, that still leaves us looking for a proper replacement for him.

WindyCity

Yeah yeah I know this all just in the rumour mill. BUT, I'm really depressed......

BM 'final' offer for Palhinha 38M - 39M.   (What a f'n rip-off!  Trust FFC won't fall for it.)

FFC trying to re-sign both Willian (age 35) and BDR (age 31).  Appreciate their service, but FFC needs to get new players into this team AND get Younger!

I just saw on skysports website that Brentford have bid £35m for Leeds player Archie Gray. He's only ever played 1 full season as a professional and that was in the Championship. For a club like Brentford that's an huge spend. According to WhoScored he mostly played at right back for Leeds last season, although he played a good amount of games in midfield as well.

Young players go for such obscene figures.

Look at sess. Wonder what the stats are on these deals working out. (players under 21 being sold for 30m +)

I never thought he looked any good. He was awful in the final. I also never rated Gordon so what do I know!

Sessegnon had a great profile, 16 goals and 8 assists with us in the Championship as a teenager, and 2 goals and 6 assists in the PL with us in a poor team that was regulated.

Sure, but the point is not wether he looked an exciting prospect at the time but wondering how many kids signed for major money (30m plus) under 21 like that, actually work out. Would be interesting to know.

Fwiw I always had my slight concerns with sess about wether he had the full skill set for a european club even peak hype from the eye test. He popped up in great places and was clinical but seemed to lack ability/skillset to take players on directly thats so often necessary in top level football from a winger. I wonder if hed stayed somewhere longer developing with regular games in a less pressured environement wether it would have been better in the long haul. Well never know

Saw the press conferance its from and didnt seem to be an "exclamation mark" ste statement but he is still making clear publicaly what he wants.

But hey

Tell Bayern to pay and you can go. Simples
Want this over at this point of only to not have to read idiotic comments from spoilt bayern children online

filham

We need a big bid to come in from Spurs, that would move Bayern from their rigid stance.

I think Palhinha has now made it perfectly clear that he only wants to be at Bayern next season, so if he is so desperate then he should pay towards the transfer. I Assume he has negotiated a salary of at least what we pay him of 120,000 euro a week, so over 5 years that's 30 million euro, so if Bayern don't want to up their offer then Palhinha should offer reduced terms of let's say 80,000 a week which would allow Bayern to up their offer by 10m Euro.

He did say 'both clubs', so I assume he is aware that they're offering far less for him this season.

He said both clubs know where he wants to be

Doesnt mean he thinks fulham shouldnt accept their current offer

Then he says what has to happen will happen, which is a more vague statement
Could mean both teams know he wants to move but whatever will be will be, or fulham will need to accept their offer and it'll happen, or bayern will need to up their offer and itll happen. Who knows

When you look past the so called reported fees being offered for players. I think Bayern, having come in at the very last minute of the last transfer window. Are really not a very well run club and I would wait for offers from other clubs that met the valuation. Sometimes the big clubs reputations far outweigh their present level.

Better to wait for a big club in England to come in with big offer. Bayern I am now convinced only ever wanted to poach the player and make him feel unsettled so they could get him on the cheap.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

JimmyConway

German teams tend to not pay the big transfer fees as a rule though there are a few exceptions.
They are still one of the very top elite teams and if they make it known to a player that they would like them to join there team like Real Madrid it becomes inevitable? They know there strategy and how this all pans out.
The one hope from our perspective is as per last season we tell them no deal until we have replacement signed! Whether that's today tomorrow or end of window unless they pay the agreed fee of last season which is highly unlikely. It's no longer a case of who blinks first more we need to be no way inconvenienced in our preparation of pre season.

hovewhite

Tell them this is the price we want and either pay or clear off NOT negotiable!

Agree, and also tell them they have 7 days to agree the deal or that's it over and done with.

Beamer

Surely it's time for us to go back to Bayern and tell them that despite their attempt to use the player to put pressure on us we should remind them that they knew the value we had put on the player and that their rather derisory offer of 40 million was nowhere near enough. Trying to force our hand by upping it slightly and grandly saying that it was a 'final' offer had done little to improve the attitude towards their negotiating stance.
We should then say that as a gesture we would reduce the price to 55 million and that it was our 'final' offer which was open for 1 week and then automatically withdrawn with the price returning to 60 million.
Then explain to JP that they are simply trying to get him on the cheap and if they won't pay what we consider a fair price (as pretty well agreed last time round) he should consider just how much they really want him.

St Eve

JP clearly wanted to go to Bayern Munich, but it failed and he signed a 4 year contract.
Fantastic for us but I never really understood it. We do not know the details or what side bar discussions took place. So it's very hard for us to advise on our stance.

Fulham to open talks with Vitoria over a move for Jota Silva this week. Fulham have already approached his agent Sferico Sports Management in recent days.
